The downfall of dwelling in a scattered home. Observe from the beginning, such as "knowing the master," to the end, such as "truly connecting." If one follows what, can one become the author here? To this, the following should be stated: Therefore, it is said, "Standing due to concealment." It is unreasonable for extremely heavy actions to have no downfall, or rather, for the inferior, the ultimate focus is the word of dwelling here, while the former is the word of residing. The fault of dwelling while sitting on a cushion is different, and one should also understand the former for dwelling. For the manifest place, it should be understood as dwelling in wrongdoing. Is it the case that all monks standing in all dwellings are like this? Therefore, it is said, "Having a covering." The nature of walls, mist, curtains, or darkness, etc., obscures the object of the eye that has become an obstacle. Therefore, for those dwelling in darkness, it is impossible to appear, and this should be understood as obscuration. Is it the case that any dwelling that is needed is like this? Therefore, it is said, "If not due to fear." The text here is that if it is due to fear, there is no downfall. For manifest dwelling, one should also follow and understand that there is no downfall due to fear. Dwelling due to fear, for the arrogant mind that manifests and inclines, here one should allow extreme cutting off and focus. Is it the case that all standing there are the actual authors? Therefore, it is said, "If the perceived and the perceiver do not perceive, there is wrongdoing." The appearance of similar substances, etc., where there is obscuration, and there is also obscuration when grasping sound, should be understood in all aspects, dwelling in this, for the perceiver, in the state of not truly connecting, is the meaning of being the author of wrongdoing. Directing the mind to other places means that the one who truly connects directs the mind from one place to another, through seeing and hearing, as well as the manifest and concealed that are happening now, all are wrongdoing.
