If one drinks (a beverage), and the mouth becomes smelly due to contact with it, if one moves it elsewhere for the sake of food, there is no transgression, that is its meaning. Here, the scripture says that if a monk drinks a beverage without rinsing his mouth, he commits a misdeed. How much is needed to make the mouth clean? The scripture says that its outside, whether it is dung, earth, or anything else, should be rinsed clean with water, and then it is clean. The two lips remain in this state of cleanliness. The scripture concludes by saying that one should also correctly understand this from crumbs and the like. The scripture says that rinsing the inside with one or three dou of unused water is the cleanliness of the inside of the mouth. The scripture says that the begging bowl should be washed two or three times with thorough intention, and even if the sound is not pleasant, it is clean. The begging bowl should be respectfully washed with thorough intention, repeated two or three times, and washed with morning water and the like, and even if the sound is not pleasant and does not make a crisp sound, it is still clean. The scripture says that if there is scum, there is no fault, and the word "begging bowl" can be understood to mean that scum has formed on the cleaned begging bowl, and there is no fault in this. The scripture says that even touching something that is not contaminated is okay, meaning that if one touches a begging bowl that can be eaten, even if it is not contaminated, there is no fault. Whether it is dry dung, wet dung, or earth, anything washed three times, even if it is oily, should be connected to "no fault." Here the scripture is, please ask the Blessed One, if a monk washes a begging bowl three times with dry dung, wet dung, or earth, and even if it becomes greasy or has oil stains, can it be enjoyed? The attendant also said the same. Why? Because it is not worthy of being talked about. Here, the three, dry dung and so on, are just examples, and it should be understood that other things are also acceptable. The scripture says that the scum should be removed, meaning that if the cleaned begging bowl is stained with oil stains, paint, or other dirt, it should be removed. Here the scripture is, if a certain monk has a very large begging bowl, he

If butter is taken, an oil film will appear, and fat fish-eye-like things will form on top. At this time, the bhikkhu will feel regret. The Blessed One taught: Remove the oil on top and drink it. Regarding the statement "The contaminated part should be cleaned," the "that part" refers to which part of the bowl is contaminated. Here, the Vinaya text is that if a bhikkhu uses a bowl with beads to wash things, and sees that each bead is covered with rice crumbs, he feels regret. The Blessed One taught: Scrape it off with a piece of wood, rinse it two or three times with water, and then it can be used. Do not regret this. In order to make oily things like bottles free of oil, they should be placed in a deep water pool. Or put them where fish, turtles, frogs, or small crocodiles kill them, or put them where fish dogs, etc., eat them all up. Roasting can also make them free of oil. If, after being completely eaten and roasted in this way, how should oil-free things like bottles be cleaned? Therefore, it is said that "being free of oil is because of washing." The statement "is clean" is related to this. What is used to wash it? Therefore, it is said that "using alkaline dry matter or alkaline matter is clean." Using dawn water or alkaline matter is clean, and being free of oil is clean. Salt, etc., become salt water, altered water, and turbid water, only half of which is permissible. Among salt and altered substances and turbid substances, becoming salt water, becoming altered water, and turbid substances becoming turbid water, drinking only half is permissible, meaning that an offense has been committed. This is not appropriate for all situations, meaning that things that have become salt, etc., are permissible, even for those who are not sick. In cases where salt and altered substances do not perform their own functions, there is nothing, meaning that even half is not permissible here. In this situation, there is no downfall at all, not even the downfall of a misdeed. Here, for all situations, salt and altered
