Not entering the road and not entering the boat, this is also the meaning of "also." A road one yojana or half a yojana, or will return, for this, some consider it to be the discourse of "going" and "will return." Others separately consider that it will go to one yojana, or go to one yojana, or go to half a yojana, or has returned. Neither of these two statements is true. If a monk temporarily exceeds half a yojana of a monk, and seeks with the Sangha, what kind of downfall will there be? Those nearby say there is no downfall. If not eating together, is it the same for everything? Therefore, it is said, "Except for large festivals." Here, the discourse of "large festivals" refers to abandoning food. Whenever universally enjoyed, for this "author himself," if it is mentioned below "ate," then should it be said, "For all untimely food, if ate"? Therefore, it is said, "Except for the food of the renunciates without this sign." The so-called "for which renunciates do not have this sign" refers to the non-Buddhist renunciates. The so-called "except for their food" means for anything that can be eaten, if ate. Staying in the place to come, those who live within the boundary, if they eat without asking about their arrival, it is a transgression. The so-called "staying" refers to completely staying. For which place, completely calculating the fundamental dwelling place, etc., some think that the person who does this, those who came for the sake of food, in other places completely calculating the fundamental dwelling place, etc., for those who live in places that are not different from other boundaries, those people are the stayers and those who will come. For those people, if they eat without asking about their arrival, it is a transgression, that is, committing a misdeed. For those who do not live there, if they eat without asking about their arrival, it is only a cause of downfall. Therefore, it should be understood that it is excluded by the goal of not doing it. The discourse here is that there are houses near the fundamental dwelling place, in the fundamental dwelling place, monks from the house dwelling place of those foods

One should ask, "Have the monks arrived?" If one eats without asking, those dwelling on the monastery grounds will commit a misdeed, while those dwelling in houses will commit an offense entailing expulsion. Monks, if they eat food in a house, they should ask, "Have the Sangha come from the monastery grounds?" If they eat without asking, those dwelling in houses will commit a misdeed, while those dwelling on the monastery grounds will commit an offense entailing expulsion. This is what the Buddha said. The meaning of "not investigating what has become doubtful" is exemplified here as abiding without asking. Because what should be doubted is not apprehended, it is not to be asked. Therefore, even for the sake of a single day, in the case of the Sangha, it is to be reproached. Otherwise, a complete transgression will occur. Therefore, this is the agent for that. Thus, if the dwelling is the same, and if some monks eat food separately, and they also gather and eat, if it is clearly known or there is doubt, it should be understood that this generates a misdeed belonging to all the remnants of the Sangha. The saying, "Even if a little of anything is distributed, it is the same food," means that even if the Sangha eats in another place, or eats at another food place, even if a little of any food that is to be eaten is distributed to the Sangha, there is no offense entailing expulsion. The saying, "Except for those who are about to travel, those who come suddenly, the sick, those who care for the sick, and the karmadana, all others should not take food from the kitchen and the common storehouse without having eaten," means that even from the root and details of medicine, if invited as a guest, all should not eat without having eaten. Therefore, this procedure should also be understood there. Here, it is not said "for the sake of the Sangha," it is not for either of the two. Even if three are invited, it is the same, because for those who are invited, abundant food is the nature of what is appropriate. Therefore, this procedure is not absent here. Even if only one monk dwells in a monastery, he should not eat food outside the designated place, if he eats, it will be a transgression. Therefore, this is the basis of the training. If a single person is invited as a guest,
