"O" means where the key is hidden. If someone comes who has been invited to another's house as a guest and the door is closed, then one should place the mat near the wall or near a tree and then enter. "O" means that if the door is closed, it is related to this statement. Here, mentioning near the wall or near a tree is just an example of sheltering from the sun. Even so, here the text says in some letters of inquiry that if the wall or the tree or the sun does not damage it, it should be placed. There, the mats are given on loan, there means inside the house. One should not send it oneself, meaning from inside the house to the dwelling of the monks. That is for the householders and novices, meaning to send the mat. If there is none, in order to send it, one should entrust it to the householder and leave, if there is none, it refers to the householders and novices. Here the text is, when a monk has eaten and is leaving with the mat under his armpit, the Brahmins and householders will ask, do those noble ones go like playing? The Blessed One then said: One should not send the mat oneself, it should be sent by the householders and novices. If there are no householders and novices, then one should entrust it to that householder and leave. If they say we will send it, then put it down and leave. If they do not send it, then those who are staying should take it. They refer to the householders. If they do not agree to send it, then those who are staying should take it. If there is none, then take it yourself, if there are no residents, then take it yourself. If everyone needs to take it, then one should strike the ghaṇṭā (藏文:གཎྜཱི་,梵文天城体:घण्टा,梵文罗马拟音:ghaṇṭā,汉语字面意思:bell) meaning, if all the monks need to take it, then everyone should gather and strike the ghaṇṭā (藏文:གཎྜཱི་,梵文天城体:घण्टा,梵文罗马拟音:ghaṇṭā,汉语字面意思:bell) and then take it. If the patron borrows mats in the temple for his own purpose, then it should be given, meaning, if those who are invited to give, if they borrow mats in the temple for their own purpose, then they should be given the loan.

It means to give a seat. To protect those seats, monks should also be assigned, which refers to the seats. He said, "He should sit in one direction," which refers to the assigned monk. He said, "Do your own work," which refers to meditation and recitation. He said, "Also focus on," which means to focus on the seats and abide. He said, "Thoroughly shake," which means that those responsible for welcoming should thoroughly shake those seats. He said, "Unsuitable things should be cleaned," meaning if something is dirty, what should be used to clean it? Therefore, he mentioned, "If it is wine, use water," meaning if it is soiled by wine dregs, it should be washed and cleaned with water alone. He said, "If it is oil, use ash," meaning if it is soiled by oil, it should be cleaned with clay ash. He said, "If it is an unclean thing, use soil or dry dung or wet dung," meaning if the seat is soiled by an unclean thing, it should be cleaned with soil or dry dung or wet dung. Here the scripture says that in other places only soil is used, but here other things are included, which is only as a symbol. Do not think that this contradicts the previous statement. He said, "If the fabric is not clean, it should be cut off," here the scripture says that if it can be cleaned temporarily, that would be best. If it cannot be cleaned, the thread should be cut off and discarded, and new threads should be used to repair it. He said, "If you see a mat that laypeople have sat on that has not been put away, it should be put away," meaning any monk who sees those mats should put them away. He said, "If the person who sees it is old or sick, the caretaker should put it away," meaning if the person who sees the mat is old or sick, the caretaker should put it away. He said, "He should inform," meaning the elderly or sick observer should inform. If you doubt who should be informed, know here that you should inform the person who has been assigned, which refers to both in fact and in power. He said, "Take care of all patients," meaning when approaching the patient's room, it does not refer to a certain young or old person, this is what it means. If you ask whether you should stand and take care of them or...
