It is said, "It is not boiling, but simmering," which should be understood by this sutra. It should be understood that in the case of a monk's cooking, only what is edible is the cause, and not others, which is the essence of this sutra. It is said, "Even unsuitable land is also," meaning that what is done by the suitable is what is done. It is said, "Seven days and up to the sustenance of life, if not sprinkled with cold water, should not be eaten," because it is related to what is suitable, hence this statement. For the suitable, if it is not sprinkled here, like fire, etc., similarly, when it is suitable due to its fault, but not at the time of eating, it should be understood as such. Here the text is: If there is a monk, these eight offenses, born from the Tso-Tso fruit, or born from the fruit of a water tree, or born from grain, or born from rough things, or born from grapes and Udumbara, or born from the Nyagrodha tree, or born from pervasive places, if they are mixed, cooked, and blended with root juice, stem juice, leaf juice, or flower juice, are they suitable? If they are sour, non-intoxicating, and non-astringent, then they are suitable for drinking. If they are soaked in water, then they are seven days and up to the sustenance of life. This is the word of the sutra. If it is suitable within the time limit, then it should not be eaten immediately. The so-called "that" refers to cold water. Here, what is not done at other times is what is done. Although it is also necessary to sprinkle with cold water when churning butter and when extracting cream, the butter and black butter have made it suitable. Because the motivation requires this, therefore achieving these, therefore it is suitable, so when boiling brown sugar, although it is also necessary to sprinkle with cold water, at that time sprinkling with water does not include making it suitable. It is impossible to make something suitable with fire for seven days, here the text is to follow the words, "Here it is not achieved, and it is also permissible to hear and ridicule when it is not seen." Here the text is: When the venerable one and Nyeda are sitting together for idle talk, the venerable one

It is said that the child went in the direction of wealth. The so-called "innuendo" does not mean to accuse by naming the object of ridicule. If asked, for what kind of fall and fault is the author of these actions here, then, when mentioning "enumeration," it is said to be "fundamental." Direct ridicule and innuendo, if it is necessary to enumerate these ridicules and innuendos, then this person is the fundamental author. For those not enumerated, it is other faults. For those who cannot accept even a little bit, it is said "do not speak," meaning that for those who cannot accept even a little bit, do not speak even a little bit through exhortation, remembrance, etc. All that is said in the manner of ridicule and innuendo is included here. If someone becomes angry, do not let him appoint affairs himself, meaning that for those who cannot accept even a little bit, if they become angry and unhappy, then the Sangha should not appoint them to affairs, but should appoint them indirectly. Ridicule! The admonition belonging to discussion, piercing the ears with words, and piercing the ears with silence, and directly ridiculing those who are indicated, and in the manner of innuendo, do not count as accusations, meaning that piercing the ears with words belonging to the admonition of discussion, and piercing the ears with silence, and directly ridiculing those who are indicated and in the manner of innuendo, these are all summaries. Those who are appointed to food etc. have already been discussed. Now for the situation that arises, this is what must be done, what must be enumerated is that we know that your behavior is impure, and that people like you are classified among those with impure behavior, and that such shameless behavior itself is enumerated among them. Therefore, one cannot take a laissez-faire attitude towards enumerating these behaviors. What belongs to discussion refers to words that can be understood. The admonition belonging to discussion means the question raised by the speaker. There are two ways to pierce the ears.
