That which is absent for others is also absent for oneself. If it changes due to distinctions, etc., then falling into that is blameworthy, but the actual falling is not. This is the meaning. Here, the situation is that some monks have bowls, but beg for other bowls. Are there some situations where there is no falling? The answer is: If the begged bowls break without any interval between them, then there is no falling. Here, it is said that there is no falling considering that there is no abandonment, so it is not with the intention of no action. Here, the word of blame is the actual transgression. For action, this is not allowed. With one's own utensils. Even if those things exist, it is so, that is, for the utensils, it is blame. Here, if one uses both sets of utensils to seek other bowls, it is a transgression. If one possesses and owns them, but seeks bowls, it is a transgression. Here, it is also shown that there is no falling for the sake of the actual purpose, but not for the action. For permissible begging, even if one has one's own value, entering into it is a transgression, this should be understood. Exchanging because one wants something good is also so, that is, for wanting a good bowl, it is wanting something good. If one exchanges with the desire for that good thing, with seeking as the precursor, then one should know that falling is blameworthy. If one obtains through exchange, there is no falling. What is said here refers to exchanging without wanting something good, this should be understood. Obtaining by begging from a non-relative householder is actual. If one seeks without begging, or exchanges after abandoning, for the situation where one obtains after abandoning to a non-relative householder or another, even if one exchanges wanting something good, in all actions it is a transgression. If one exchanges without seeking, and there is no desire for something good, then there is no falling, this should be understood to exist here. Exceeding ten days, one should know that it is another abandonment falling. This should be abandoned to the Sangha, that is, how should this extra bowl be abandoned, not to another person. Should all the bowls...

If it is said that it should be abandoned, it is not, therefore, if it is not, it is said that the only supreme wish. If the remaining alms bowl is not much, then the only supreme wish should be abandoned to the Sangha. Then, should the other remnants be abandoned or not? Therefore, it is said that the others should be abandoned completely. Where is it? Therefore, it is said in this renunciation place. It is said in the sutra that the remaining alms bowls should be distributed to the monks. Saying monk is only a symbol, in fact, it includes all renunciates in this Dharma. Giving away the broken one is not for the one who abandoned it. In addition, the broken alms bowl should be given to this person. If that Sangha is broken, it should be given to that Sangha. To degrade by distribution is to take the broken one out of that Sangha. In what way, by distribution, is the broken one taken out of the Sangha? Therefore, it is through appointment. If he is going to do this tomorrow, he should report to the Sangha at the assembly. This "he" refers to the distributor. "He" refers to the appointee. How should it be reported? Therefore, it is said, "Dear long-lived ones, I will distribute the unrelated alms bowls tomorrow, please take your own alms bowls and enter the Sangha." The so-called "unrelated alms bowl" refers to this alms bowl, Unada (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) is unrelated, it is not to be blessed, it is not to be destroyed, it is abandoned and accepted like a slave, this is its name. Striving for dwelling refers to the appointee before both, from this sutra, as long as it is appointed, it should be accepted, accepting and not accepting, these should all be understood as the actions of the acceptor. Praising and giving is that he is in charge of the alms bowl, with what kind of praise and giving?
