Admonishing with two requests and four karmas, like this, accepting it as it is without saying anything. That is the ritual and karma of admonishment to prevent the destruction of the family. In the case of a disunited Sangha, it should be admonished to prevent disunity, as it is said: Here some monks have become of a nature of disunity. When the monks speak to them with words that belong to the basis of teaching and belong to the Sutras of the Sugata, which are in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya, then, Venerables, do not say anything about what is good or bad. I also, whether good or bad, will not say anything to the Venerables. Venerables, please give me the opportunity to speak. What is the use of me speaking to you? If he does not make a self-defense, then the monks should first admonish that monk. He should be admonished thus: Venerable, Sangha, when the monks speak with words that belong to the basis of teaching and belong to the Sutras of the Sugata, which are in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya, do not fail to make a self-defense, Venerable should only make a self-defense. When the monks speak to the Venerable with words that are in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya, the Venerable should also speak to the monks with words that are in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya. Like this, stating to each other, admonishing and accordingly instructing each other, and requesting each other from transgressions, in this way, the Sangha of the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyaksambuddha will increase. Venerable, Sangha, you should abandon this kind of action of not making a self-defense. That is what should be done for the first time. When the monks admonish, if he insists and clings to that basis, and clearly clings, and then says, "This is the truth, and the others are false," then, make a request and

It should be announced with four karmas. It should be announced in this way: After arranging the place, strike the ghanta, and after truly announcing to the monks with questioning words, when all the Sangha are dwelling and in harmony, one monk should make a request and then act. It should be done like this: In the dwelling, this should be said: Venerable Sangha, please listen. This monk has committed an offense, and will not repeat it according to the Dharma. Therefore, when the monks speak of the foundations of learning related to admonishment, and those related to the Sutras spoken by the Sugata, in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya, venerable ones, do not say anything about what is good or bad. I also, whether good or bad, will not say anything to the venerable ones. Venerable ones, please let go of this path of words for me. If you also say, "What is the use of me speaking?", do not make self-justifications. If many monks admonish and announce to him in this way, even if many monks admonish and announce to him in this way, still stubbornly cling to that very basis, and being manifestly attached, comment, "Only this is true, the others are false," if the time of the Sangha has come and it is permissible, please allow the Sangha. The Sangha says to the monk: Venerable one, when the monks speak of the foundations of learning related to admonishment, and those related to the Sutras spoken by the Sugata, in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya, do not make self-justifications. Venerable one, only make self-justifications. When the monks speak to the venerable one in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya, the venerable one should also speak to the monks in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya. Like this, by making it a matter of mutual statement, mutual instruction and subsequent teaching, and mutual urging from offenses, in this way, the retinue of the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha, will increase. Venerable one, do not make self-justifications.
