Do not preach to any of the nuns among you. Your teachings and following come from the Sangha. What can be preached is: Sisters, be mindful in your actions. Except for the Dharma that possesses the power of a master. Not possessing any of those who have been appointed, nor preaching to a nun who has not been appointed. One who was previously appointed is not one who has not been appointed. If the Sangha is not yet complete, there is no fault in requesting from those who are suitable. It is the same for them. Preaching to one who has not been appointed is a downfall. Knowing is primary. At the time of sunset. Unless preaching the Dharma in a covered place, do not preach to a nun. At that time, if the door is open and there is no summer residence in front of such a temple. Preaching until sunset is a downfall. In order to make the nun fearless in asking questions, food should be offered to the monks. Canes, wooden staffs, whips, and rosaries are also included. The monks should accept these. If the monk is not such a person, and says to the nun, "I will preach the Dharma for you" for a small amount of food. Preaching for a small amount of food is a downfall. Knowing is primary. To a nun who is not a relative. One may make clothes. Making clothes is a downfall. The clothes have been delivered. Not for offering clothes. If it is not for loss, good speech, ordination, and exchange. Giving clothes is a downfall. Food for the road should be respected. Male novices, female novices, monks, and nuns. Monks and nuns may offer one person's road provisions to another. They may also give and receive from each other. When practicing together, it should not be discarded on the road. It should be respected. It is the same for nuns. They should help each other. Starting from the beginning. Even if one goes to a village, there is no fault. The patient's medicine and food should be properly mixed, and a nurse of compatible temperament should be left behind. If traveling on a fearful road, unless dwelling together and walking in an inseparable manner, do not travel on the road with any nun
