If that monastic robe is completed, that is good. If it is not completed, remain silent, four times, five times, or six times, without speaking in any direction. After the third exhortation, permission is given to remain silent. It is not specifically stated to exhort further, because if one exhorts repeatedly, it will cause annoyance, which is not good. The fourth exhortation itself is not a reason for abandonment. Therefore, exceeding three exhortations is itself committing a fault. Regarding remaining silent, after three times, one should abandon it, this is how it should be understood. Trust is to believe, such as believing in students, etc. If nothing is accomplished, it means doing nothing at all. 'Know this' means to look. One's own wealth is one's own property. If a monk temporarily excludes a bhikkhu's monastic robe, etc., then the transgression mentioned belongs to nissaggiya pacittiya (forfeiture entailing expiation). This is the determination of nissaggiya pacittiya. Silk cotton comes from silkworms. Cushions are either lined or stuffed. Some say there are two kinds of cushions, but for the moment, this refers to the lined kind. It is not stuffed, because that is the nature of sewing. Silk cotton also cannot be stuffed, because it is also the nature of sewing. Those who uphold the Vinaya say that is not reasonable, because the Blessed One himself said that there are two kinds of cushions: lined and stuffed. Therefore, this refers to both. 'If one does' means to do it oneself or to have another do it manifestly. Here, mentioning the lined kind means that holding something like a covering cloth does not constitute forfeiture, because it is not the robe itself. If a cushion is indeed a cushion, but also has the nature of a robe, then holding it will definitely constitute forfeiture entailing expiation, because it has become a robe, like a spread. If a monk temporarily has a bhikkhu make a silk cotton cushion from another, etc., then the transgression mentioned is because it was not done in front of one's own eyes. Because it was not done in front of one's own eyes, it was not in front of one's own eyes.

It is done. Such intense desire for attachment will not arise, and such a body will not arise, therefore this should be understood. Some say that if (an item) is given to a householder, etc., it is a fault. This is not reasonable, because doing so and doing itself are the same, and not the difference of a householder, etc., because it has no connection here. Therefore, for this, only the alms bowl is good. It is mentioned separately to clearly show that cutting, etc., also follow this principle. Some say that the term "husk," etc., refers to expiation entailing forfeiture, because it is rare and precious, so it is said. Some say that the term "wool," etc., refers to a fault if it is made of a mixture, and this should be understood in relation to double items. Some say that from the words "silk is soft," etc., the differences here should be understood as causes and types by distinguishing the branches. Others do not think so, because if those things that are very rare and very precious would become things that must be abandoned. If they were willing to do so, then like wish-fulfilling garments, etc., because they are very rare and very precious, they would become things that must be abandoned. Therefore, if one does not only consider the ending, but gives it to (a householder), what will happen? It will be a fault, and in this way, all unconsidered things will be explained as becoming faults without distinction. Therefore, it is only by the power of the Teacher's precepts that transgressions are determined. Like this, it is also unreasonable to say that it is determined as expiation entailing forfeiture, because it would be too extreme. Therefore, for all these mixtures, it should only be regarded as a fault. Unconsidered things are wish-fulfilling garments, etc. Some do not want nuns to abandon silk and wool. That is unreasonable, because it is also said that if any nun uses a cushion made of silk and wool, it is an expiation entailing forfeiture, therefore, from the distinction of nuns, it is determined from those. The words "Tathagata," etc., refer to any Dharma garment that is fifteen cubits in length and width, which meets the standard.
