Regarding conduct, the upper garment refers to the garment worn on the upper body. The lower garment refers to the skirt. The term "ultimate" refers to the most excellent expression. Therefore, if a mendicant monk has already eaten enough, then only those including the upper and lower garments should be begged for, and no additional ones should be begged for, which is the final conclusion. The phrase "what is the difference" refers to what distinction there is. The upper and lower garments of a householder are twelve cubits for the upper garment and seven cubits plus two fingers for the lower garment. This is to fulfill the needs of the ritual, and the same applies to the following. The upper and lower garments of a monk, for unused clothes, should be made into two layers when sewing. The lower garment should be five cubits plus two fingers. If it has already been used, then both the sewing and the lower garment should be twice the original size. Regarding the upper and lower garments of a householder by a monk, etc., even if it is not enough, it should not be begged for. Because the donor has already promised to give, if it is not enough, it should not be begged for additionally, because the upper and lower garments of the householder have already been given. Even if there is extra, it should not be given, because what was begged for before was only the upper and lower garments of the householder. Regarding the upper and lower garments of a monk, etc., if it is not enough, it should be begged for, because the upper and lower garments of a monk have a fixed size. Therefore, if the upper and lower garments of a monk are not enough after being obtained through a promise, it should be begged for, because the upper and lower garments of a monk have not been given. If there is extra, it should be given, because if extra is obtained, it should be given, because it exceeds what was promised. Some Vinaya holders consider both of these cases to be offenses of expiation, that is, a monk begging a householder for more than the amount of upper and lower garments, and not giving a monk more than the amount of upper and lower garments, will lead to an offense of expiation. Other Vinaya holders disagree with this view, believing that a monk begging for more than the upper

The reason why the word "na" also has faults is that if, like this, one asks for more than a householder's upper and lower garments, if it is an act of abandonment, then an act of abandonment should not become an abandonment, because, like this, for that kind of action, it has already been pointed out as a misdeed. Therefore, it is good to point out both as misdeeds, that is, because of excessive begging and excessive holding. This is a summary word. The remainder refers to the messenger's letters, gestures, and so on. The so-called "previous training" refers to the training of begging. The so-called "for this" refers to the upper and lower garments, and so on. This is the determination of abandonment for begging for upper and lower garments, and so on. The word "again" is something that must be grasped, meaning that it must be accomplished solely by that monk. Or, it means "if." The word "phyir" means intentionally. "The value of robes" refers to the goods for robes, such as money and gold, etc., because these can be used to make and buy robes. "spags pa" is a summary word for "separately determining its own nature." "Like this and like that" refers to forms like this, which are summary words for size and color. The word "and" is to show that it is combined with one of the two robes. "nyos la" means "after buying." "Suitable" refers to what is in accordance with a monk, not woolen felt, etc. "In time" refers to when it is needed. "Without inviting before" means without inviting as a guest before. "Recognizing some distinctions" means recognizing some reasons, that is, understanding the thought through seeing, hearing, and doubting. "For wanting good" means taking wanting the best as the cause. "tha gas" is good. "If obtained" means if it is obtained in hand. "Other utensils besides that" refers to the bowl, etc. This misdeed belongs to begging for more than what is separately determined. "For the sake of a monk," etc., is said to be a misdeed because it is for others. This is the determination of abandonment for begging for more than what is separately determined.
