Since it is not a degradation of such views, therefore these were said. What should be done is common. Washing is slightly washing. The so-called "completely used and become defiled" means that if it is completely used, it is only that much, therefore it is specifically said that it has become defiled. The so-called "object of residence" refers to the residence of the Sangha becoming defiled, with the intention of washing it. If a monk temporarily has a nun, etc., wash it, and if the name is changed, it is said to be a misdeed, because it belongs to causing it to be washed. Thus, the downfall is that the venerable Dharmavardhana, from a hidden place, had the semen-stained undergarment of the covering washed, and distinguished it from it, because it is the cause of universal desire. If a nun has a non-relative with the same name wash it, it is said to be a misdeed based on the unexamined side. If a monk temporarily has a nun, etc., if the name is changed, it is said to be a misdeed in the same way, because it is based on the unexamined side. If a nun has a non-relative discard the washing, etc., it is said that it will be a downfall of abandonment, because it is one's own thing. However, if a discarded thing is made to be washed, it is said to be a misdeed, because it used to be one's own thing, but later it was lost, and there is no blessing. Excrement is feces. Urine is urine. Mud is mud. Filth refers to the uncleanliness belonging to the anus. Others refer to blood, etc. Preparing to send an unordained person to wash, in the state of being unordained, one has made preparations to have it washed, and later it is completed only by the power of that preparation, and not by the power of sending messengers, etc. If one thinks of it as an unordained person, etc., it is said to be a misdeed, because even if an unordained person is made to wash, it is said to be a misdeed. If one thinks of it as a relative, etc., it is said that there is no downfall, in order to show that there is no downfall for relatives.

Therefore, if one thinks of a non-relative as a relative, or thinks of a non-clean alms bowl as clean, then for a non-relative, there is no fault. Therefore, here it is said that one should abandon thinking of a non-relative as a relative, because there is an action, and because the intended matter has been accomplished. The scriptures say that for an action, thought is a limb. It is said that there is no downfall for thinking of a non-relative as a relative, because there is no action. There is also no downfall for the main action, because the intended matter has not been accomplished. In this way, entering with the thought of a non-relative is an action, but not with the thought of a relative. Therefore, it is said that there is no downfall for introducing a dispute by thinking of a non-relative as a relative, because if thought is established as a limb in the action, then that is also not present there. It is said that it is a transgression to think of a relative as a non-relative, because there is an action. Entering with the thought of a relative as a non-relative is an action, but not with the thought of a relative. This is also present there, and the scriptures say that for an action, thought is a limb. It is said that there is no downfall for thinking of a relative as a relative, because there is no thought and no action. Similarly, the following situations should also be understood accordingly. In the 'Differentiation' it says, 'If a monk introduces a long robe into a nun's dispute with the thought of a non-relative, will he commit a transgression?' What is this like? The Vinaya holders say that there it should also be known that this shows the transgression arising from the action, and not others, because this matter has not been accomplished, so it will not cause the main action. In this way, entering with the thought of a non-relative is an action, but not the place of the thought of a relative. If this is done unknowingly, there will be no downfall, and in this way, in order to show the meaning of not intentionally thinking, thought is mentioned, but it is not mainly for knowing that there is no downfall, it should be understood in this way. Therefore, in reality, for those who have thought, it is the main action. For others, it is the action.
