Or to avert with the thought of severing, or to avoid and cause to enter the place of practice, or to show another path. As for "one should estimate the value," one should estimate the value of this. If the items are complete, because one has reached the place, and because it is for the sake of others, one should understand that it will become a gross offense. When asked, some will say, what will it become? It will become a gross offense. It is also clearly stated elsewhere that this is what the bhikshu says, and if the object to be measured is five masha, it will become a gross offense. Therefore, as for "you are poor," etc., as for "one should estimate the value," one should estimate the value of this. If the items are complete, because there is a stealing mind, and because one has reached the place, it will become a defeat. Here too, one is asked, what will it become from elsewhere? One should estimate the value of the shagam. If the items are complete, it will become a defeat. If the items are not complete, it will become a gross offense. It is clearly stated that the two immediately following should be understood to be the same as this. A robe rack is the base on which robes are placed. As for "in the former, it will become a gross offense," here, wanting to steal someone's robe rack, because it is the action of defeat of stealing another's property, it will become a gross offense. As for "in the latter, there is no downfall," it is because one has entered with the thought that it is one's own. As for "in the latter, it will become a gross offense," this is on one's own thing, and then wanting to steal someone's robe rack, because it is the thought of another, the stealing mind is near. Here, because the object of the actual action is one's own, one of the limbs of the nature of not given is not completely in accordance. Therefore, because the limb is incomplete, it is good that the gross offense is spoken of. As for "one should estimate the value of the robe rack," one wants to steal the wood of the robe rack, but not the robes, so there is no downfall in taking those, because one did not think of it. The robe rack is estimated in value, and if the items are complete, it will become a defeat. If the items are not complete, it will become a gross offense. This gross offense of "it will become a gross offense" is becoming an action.

It should be known. If "from separate divisions," etc., it refers to before the wealth is obtained, like this, all of them are considered thieves, because such a consciousness has been formed, so it will not abide in discriminating wisdom. Therefore, at the time of obtaining wealth, stealing is established, but not before, that is its definition. Stealing without giving refers to not giving the wealth that should be given as charity, nor making charity, that is its definition. Stealing by force refers to forcibly plundering. Returning a donation and stealing refers to taking it back and stealing after the time limit has passed, like this, because it is something that should be returned as a donation, it is called returning a donation. A pledge is also something that should be returned as a donation, therefore, only a pledge is called returning a donation, and if it is stolen, it is also returning a theft. Stealing a entrusted object refers to stealing the entrusted object. Stealing a completely entrusted object refers to stealing the wealth that has been completely entrusted and offered to the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, as well as teachers, abbots, etc. Others say that it should be known that only stealing what has been completely given away is stealing, and it is precisely for this reason that stealing occurs through deception from some requests. Therefore, it should be known that stealing what has been completely given away is only stealing through deception, because it is impossible to fully possess the conditions for stealing there, so it is not just giving. Like this, if you think correctly, you will make a mistake if you don't give, they say. Others have different views on this, that is, for the person who makes the offering, the thought that this is mine will not arise. Because there is no thought of mine, it is actually not completely accepted. Because it is not completely accepted, if one limb is incomplete, it should be known that this is a gross offense, but not a downfall. Stealing the Dharma refers to stealing the essence held by the Sutras, Vinaya, Abhidharma, etc. Those who interpret stealing what has been completely given away as stealing by deception, the meaning is this: giving a small amount and stealing a large amount, etc., or deceiving by playing with power, etc. The so-called "excluding stealing the Dharma" refers to exclusion, because there is no intention to steal here, so there is no fault in itself. Like this, copying the Dharma such as Sutras, etc.
