This is because it has been said in the Vinaya Pitaka of the Sangha. Saying "I" is to give an example. For the sake of general instruction, whether it is a monk or a householder, anyone, if building a house for the sake of another, know that the same downfall will occur. "To cause to build" means not only others, but also oneself, because doing it oneself is heavier, so there is the saying "oneself also." The so-called "according to measure" means conforming to the measure that will be explained. What is the measure? It is mentioned, "The measure of a house is like this," and finally it says "ultimately." "Others" refers to the inside, meaning that the measure of the inside of the house is like this, but not the outside. The so-called "length" refers to height. In the so-called "Sugata's twelve cubits," "Sugata" refers to following the path of the previous perfectly enlightened Buddha. "Cubit" refers to the length of the little finger. Therefore, the limbs of the Bhagavan's Rupakaya are the measure of three men. The twelve cubits of the Bhagavan refer to thirty-six cubits with the measure of a man, which is also equivalent to eighteen cubits of an ordinary person. The so-called "width seven cubits" means that the width is eleven and a half cubits of an ordinary person. It should be known that the measure of the Sugata mentioned here is said for the purpose of understanding the cubit of the measure of twenty-four fingers. If it is not like this, the respective cubits will also become uncertain. Similarly, the same should be understood for what is said below. Even if the house conforms to the measure, it should not be built arbitrarily, but also request the permission of the Sangha. The Sangha should not give permission arbitrarily either, but should personally inspect the place, and only give permission if there is no fault. Therefore, in order to choose the foundation, it is said, "Because the monk should choose the foundation," and so on. The so-called "to look at the foundation" means to examine the land. What kind of foundation should be looked at? The text says "suitable" and so on. "Suitable" means a place where no small creatures live. "No dispute" means no trees of worldly dwellings, the king's palace, and heretics.

and free from the faults of fighting and arguing. It is permissible to start building because there is no flooding by water, etc., within a fathom (about two meters) of the vicinity. What is called impermissible, etc., should be understood as the opposite of that, that is, it is impermissible, etc. Exceeding the limit means exceeding the limit as stated above. Without permission means without obtaining permission from the Sangha. A serious offense, here refers to the fact that if any one of the limbs such as unsuitable for construction exists, and the remaining limbs do not exist, then it is said to be a serious offense. As the Blessed One also said: O monks, if a monastery is allowed to be built, and it is built in an unsuitable place, it becomes a serious offense. If it is built with disputes, it becomes a serious offense. If it is built in an unsuitable place to start, it becomes a serious offense. If it is built without permission, it becomes a serious offense. If it is built beyond the limit, it becomes a serious offense. If it is built beyond all limits, it becomes a Sanghavasesa offense. This shows that being unsuitable for construction, etc., is a limb, and merely having one limb also constitutes a serious offense, in order to fully show this meaning. Starting from the foundation, etc., these two are established with the intention of not seeking meaning, not because of obstacles. After thinking for oneself, etc., because starting to build and not completing it is not completely completed, therefore this should be understood. For what others have abandoned, etc., because it is not completed, it is not completely completed, therefore this is the case. Not covered, etc., if one thinks that one is going to start building a house that is not covered, and completes the house with this thought, then this is a transgression, because a minor offense has already been committed before, so in the action, a minor offense will always arise. After starting to build, etc., falling means falling from ordination (vows). A serious offense, this offense arises from the act of starting to build a house. Here, these words showing a serious offense are complete
