It is virtuous because it is free from faults and without transgression. The term "doctrine" is a designation, because it possesses the supreme doctrine. The term "ascetic sovereign" is merely a designation, and the four who have entered it and the four who abide in the fruit are the eight ascetic conquerors, and their sovereign is the chief, therefore, the ascetic sovereign. The term "supreme among the able" is merely a designation, and the able are those who are learning and those who are not learning, and the supreme among them is the chief, therefore, the supreme among the able. Why should it be heard? It is said, "Without cause," and so on. Without cause is without cause itself. Salty water is the ocean. The king of mountains is Mount Meru, the king of mountains, and whatever is as stable as they are is as stable as salty water and the king of mountains. "Thus, thus" is an echo, a repeated word of respect. Without cause is without cause itself. Without conditions is to be free from conditions. Subdued is from the gate of the mind. One-pointed is the pacification of the activity of disturbing emotions. Peaceful is from the gate of body and speech. Liberated is having abandoned other existences. Breathing out is extremely disciplined because it is without suffering. Tamed is because there is no improper conduct. Without attachment is because there is no attachment to desire. Beautiful is because it is beautiful with the form of maturation. The best of those who dwell in houses, the elephant of those who dwell in monasteries, the lion of those who dwell in forests, the swan of those who dwell on the banks of rivers, the garuda of those who dwell on the shores of the ocean, the brahmin of those who recite, the skilled physician of the sick, the hero of the former ones, the teacher of those who have entered the path, the leader of those who are in harmony, the caravan leader of the merchants, the king of the fortress of those who dwell in the borderlands, the wheel-turning king of Jambudvipa, the moon of those who have no protection, the sun of those who have faith in the sun, the steps of Mount Meru.

The four great kings residing in the Himalayas, as well as the Holder of the Axis of Goodness residing on Mount Yoke-Bearing, and Indra residing on the summit of Mount Meru, and Brahma residing in the Brahma world, such as Brahma, because they are the main ones, and the retinues listen with reverence, know that they are similar to this. Extreme subduing, with the senses such as the eyes as the cause, is being well subdued. Unconfused conduct and behavior are like going without confusion, and so on. For example, it is mentioned as being like a reservoir, and so on. Concentration is being stable and unchanging, like the reservoir of rivers, the clouds of farmers, and the chief of elephants of monastic people. Unmixed is uncommon mindfulness, abiding closely, universally acting in three ways: listening with reverence with wisdom, not listening with reverence, and neither of the two. Great compassion is focusing on sentient beings of the three realms, and entering into samadhi on the aspect of suffering, abiding in the mindstream of the Tathagata, entering through skillful means, generating the noble path, and attaining nirvana, that is, possessing defiled wisdom and wealth. Great Shravaka is the chief of disciples with qualities such as clairvoyance. Whose light, one fathom (about four cubits), shines more than a thousand suns, that is, possessing light greater than a thousand suns. When the Bhagavan desires, the light will intensely blaze and diminish. Going means possessing the ability to go and wander. When the Bhagavan teaches the Dharma to the retinue with unmixed mindfulness, abiding closely, the mind of the Bhagavan will not change for all who listen with reverence, all who do not listen with reverence, and those who neither listen with reverence nor do not listen with reverence. The person placed to know the coming of the enemy's army and to completely protect the dangerous road is the staff holder. The reward given to cross the great river is the boat fare. Prophecy is the prophecy of the fruit of Arhat. Enjoyment.
