The Blessed One spoke in that way in order to generate great revulsion. The flowing of pus and blood is the flowing from everywhere. What is the difference between pus and blood? Mentioning "species of worms" and so on, it means being filled with hundreds and thousands of species of worms, and being covered by numerous swarms of flies flying and landing. Flying is hovering above, and landing is falling below. Reeking means that the pus and blood are extremely foul-smelling. Unwilling to look means not wanting to look. So-called unpleasant to look at means that it is not something to be desired by looking. So-called very frightening means it is a place of fear and disgust. So-called those who are not free from attachment, etc., means that for those who have not abandoned afflictions, it is a cause for fear, sorrow, and revulsion. Cracking is because the skin is cracking. Rough is because it cannot be touched. Very rough means that it is not pleasing to see. Many colors means having forms such as blue, and various shapes means having forms such as long. Comfort is what is desired. So-called faults manifestly accomplished by evil deeds means that it arises from the faults of unwholesome deeds. So-called requesting a prophecy, etc., is because it is very inferior, so it is said twice. When will I be liberated from the state of a naga? This is requesting a prophecy. The Blessed One does not make a prophecy, which is to say that the reason is to be stated here. If the Blessed One is omniscient, why does he not make a prophecy? Here it is said that the reason the Blessed One did not prophesy is to show that deeds done and accumulated are not wasted, and that experiencing intense suffering results from transgressing against a sacred field, and to abandon the desire for the wealth of a universal monarch, and to generate revulsion for the remainder of samsara. The Tripitaka is that which holds from the perspective of the meaning of the scriptures, that is the Tripitaka. The trunk

Therefore, because it is to enter, it must be abandoned, that is, to strive for the sake of taming the mind. The term "lifeless" here means that life here is intended as consciousness. Life is the exhalation and inhalation of breath. Because it is the lineage of Katyayana, it is called Katyayana, which refers to being born from the sage Katyayana. "This world relies on two," etc., in what way does it rely? It is said that "existence" and "non-existence" are mentioned, existence is the view of permanence, and non-existence is the view of annihilation. One speaks of permanence, and one speaks of annihilation, and the meaning here is transformed in this way. Mostly it is a lot, but not all are in that form, this is a summary statement. Why do they rely on it in that way? Therefore, the protector and the grasping are mentioned, because these worlds are bound by the aggregates and grasping, so it is said to rely on two. The aggregates refer to the aggregates of birth, etc., excluding afflictions, and grasping refers to afflictions. Aggregates and grasping are aggregates and grasping, and being bound by them means being dominated or pervaded by other forces. "Thus it is" means that the inner two do not approach any side. What is it? It is said that the abode of the mind and the latent tendencies of manifest clinging are such that with regard to objects, one particularly abides, thinking, "This is my own," so it is an abode, that is, existence. By mentioning manifest clinging, views are grasped. Not approaching means that one does not tend towards them oneself. "Not grasping" means not clinging. "Not abiding" means not abiding firmly. "Without manifest clinging" means not clinging. In order to show selflessness, suffering is mentioned, this is only suffering, it is not self or what belongs to self. "Also in this" refers to the object of suffering. "Desire" means wanting. "Hesitation,"

That which is called "become" is because of doubt. After hearing two views, believing in which one is the arising of manifest desire. That is the desire here. If it is so, or if it is not so, such doubt is doubt. The saying "not only known by other causes" means that gradually increasing knowledge arises, therefore knowledge that does not depend on other causes is established, because it is manifest through one's own direct perception. Or, to this Katyayana, you say "desire and not known by other causes," which means that suffering and so on are desire and doubt, because doubt about that object is abandoned. Therefore, when knowing, it is necessarily to determine it, and it is not dependent on other causes. The saying "only by this" and so on, only by this can one comprehend truthfully and without inversion, which is right view. Only by this, the Tathagata also establishes it as right view, He made the establishment and distinction. The saying "what is the reason for that" means "from where." The saying "the arising of the world" and so on, the world refers to the five aggregates of clinging, and the arising of that world refers to growth. That is also as it is, as it is in reality. The saying "with right wisdom" means observing and completely cutting off with undefiled wisdom. The saying "the world is non-existent," such annihilationism is not correct, because this is the fruit of the Dharma that has the nature of the five aggregates of clinging, it is suffering. Because it arises from here, it is the cause of the future, it is arising. Because the five aggregates arise from this, and arise from elsewhere, therefore non-existence is abandoned. If one observes cessation as it is in reality, it is also not existent, because clinging to permanence will be reversed, because one sees the cessation of things. Therefore, that
