Having taken and held the objects of offering, such as incense, and abiding in tamedness, thinking in the mind, 'I shall serve him with this,' thus showing the method of serving. In order, for the spokes called the life-tree, etc., the first should be made large in size, the second should be slightly smaller than that, and the third and fourth are also the same. In order, the spokes should be made round. Because it is a means of protecting from rain, it is an umbrella. It should be placed on top of everything, the various shapes of the object's differences are all round. Individual ordinary beings are virtuous because they are without fault, therefore they are virtuous. Whoever does not commit any double faults is called a virtuous individual ordinary being. The so-called 'unadorned' means without decoration. The so-called 'how to abide' is the Thus-Gone One, and how those two are seated in order, the support of Nirvana should also be done in that way. On the right side of the Bhagavan is Shariputra, and on the left side is Maudgalyayana's son, as it is said. The so-called 'have great faith' means with trust. The so-called 'the great ship is good' means having obtained benefit. Because it is the meaning of going, it is a vehicle, because it holds objects, it is a vessel, therefore it is called a ship. Giving is the meaning of following and receiving, merit is the meaning of offering, or giving is the nature of giving, and merit is the nature of discipline. What is to be beaten is what can be beaten. The shade of the Jambudvipa tree refers to the Bodhisattva abiding in the shade of the Jambudvipa tree, having entered into the first dhyana, which is stainless and like meditation, and at that time, the body of the Bodhisattva is like what, the statue is made in accordance with that form. The so-called 'looking with contempt' means looking, because the object in another state is to be completely severed into another state. Hearing wrongly and doubting are also the same as this. Looking head down is shame. Emaciation means the flesh is completely exhausted. Withered means the ability to do things is small.

The term "ྙེད་པ་" is used to describe the state of being separated from radiance. "Not having obtained a body" refers to the state of lacking even the ability to maintain a body. Yoga is the accomplishment of meditative absorption, while attention is not accomplished, and non-attention is complete abandonment. For non-forgetfulness, mindfulness is taught. Revealing the occasion is to reveal the occasion for discussing downfalls. Making a commitment is to avert the imputation caused by wrong views and the like. The key instruction is to strike the vital point of the path of meditation. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, in Varanasi and other places, not long after the Bhagavan had attained complete enlightenment, was requested by the Great Brahma to teach the Dharma. Knowing that the Buddha had accepted to teach, the Bhagavan went to Varanasi to meet with the five disciples, including Kaundinya, and spoke, and so forth. This is what is meant here by turning the wheel of Dharma. By the power of past aspirations, starting with the five disciples, this sutra was spoken to destroy the aggregates of afflictions, with the view of the aggregates as foremost, which had been accumulated since beginningless time. This is the great treasure of the Dharma, accomplished by three countless eons and countless hundreds of eons. Because this is truly distinguished by the all-knowing Kaundinya and others. Therefore, through this explanation of the meaning of the condensed sutra, the necessity of the Bhagavan's speaking of the sutra is also clearly shown. Because all the teachings of the Bhagavan are to take hold of beings who can be tamed, and also to liberate these beings who can be tamed from all the faults of afflictions. If the beings to be tamed do not eradicate the aggregates of afflictions, such as the view of the aggregates, then they will not be able to obtain the wisdom that completely exhausts and abandons all conforming actions. Therefore, the Bhagavan, in order to fully ripen the roots of virtue that are in accordance with the part of liberation that the five disciples were accustomed to in past lives, and in order to completely exhaust the aggregates of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing, thus spoke this sutra for those who have generated supreme faith and so forth. The necessity of speaking the sutra has also been truly clarified.
