Suffering is suffering because it is the cause of suffering. The so-called severe illness is because the disease itself is spreading. The so-called pervading the body is oppression, because it produces a very heavy feeling. The so-called harm is to cause disease. Being without disease is being free from disease. In order to obtain freedom from disease, one becomes strong. Regarding slaves, etc., the five forms of slaves are only explained and taught in this sutra. The so-called employing refers to employing someone who is supported by wealth. The so-called instructing refers to family members and Dharma friends, etc. The so-called those who should not be employed refers to noble and other independent people. To engage as one wishes through reason is to dominate, because the supreme sovereign has no ability to move that action elsewhere, nor is it something to be constantly relied upon. Therefore, it should be understood that these four who live by wealth, such as those who are employed, are increasingly superior. To be firmly bound is to be very tightly bound. At the time of being bound, it is auspicious because there is no harm. Because of that reason, even afterwards there is no harm, so it is peaceful. Because wealth is not abandoned, there is no calamity. The so-called from fear means that from those places full of fear, one becomes peaceful, which is a place of harmlessness. Regarding how one becomes indebted, etc., becoming indebted is the obscuration of greed, because if it exists, one has not transcended the desire realm. Disease is the obscuration of hatred, because it is itself harmful. Becoming a slave is the obscuration of drowsiness and sleep, because the mind itself has no autonomy. Becoming bound is the obscuration of excitement and regret, because it obstructs the samadhi that transcends and corresponds to the desire realm. Fear is the obscuration of doubt, because the nature of uncertainty itself is the cause of the fear of samsara. Alternatively, debt, etc., begins with hatred.
