Doing so will lead to association with evil beings such as the guardians of hell, dependence on others, and being controlled by others. Therefore, one should follow the teachings of the Teacher. This is a concluding statement. To illustrate this with an example, it is said, "Burning a bamboo grove will ruin a mango orchard." For example, to protect the king's mango orchard, it is surrounded by thorny bamboo. However, some careless people think that this is unnecessary and a trivial matter, so they set fire to the bamboo grove. As a result, the mango orchard is eaten by various animals such as cows and horses, and is destroyed. That person is therefore angered by the king and suffers severe punishment and pain. Similarly, if one violates the precepts, like burning a bamboo grove, it leads to natural faults, like destroying a mango orchard. Then, despising the Buddha's teachings and breaking the precepts, like angering the king, will lead to suffering like the king's pain and being controlled by others. In the next life, one will suffer great pain from evil beings such as the guardians of hell. Therefore, one should also protect the established precepts with reverence, like cherishing a bamboo grove. Now, to specifically explain the faults of violating the precepts with the intention to kill, it is said, "Here, some people, even if they repeat the king's important orders, will not be punished several times. If one improperly repeats the teachings of the capable one, one will fall into the animal realm like the Ela leaf dragon." This means that in this world, some people, even if they repeat the king's important orders several times, in situations such as places of affection or national conflicts, may not be punished by the king. However, if one improperly despises the capable Bhagavan, who has compassion, does beneficial deeds, and has supreme teachings, even just repeating the precepts with the intention to kill, one will mostly fall into the animal realm due to evil deeds. Therefore, one should be respectful. This is a concluding statement. To illustrate this with an example, it is said: Ela's

It is said that the story called "Like a Leaf Dragon" is as follows: In the time of the Blessed One Kashyapa, when a renunciate monk was walking, a leaf of a camphor tree fell on his head. He disregarded the Blessed One's command and cut off that camphor leaf. Because of that, that monk was born as a dragon called "Leaf Dragon." A camphor tree grew on his head, and when it moved, he experienced unbearable, intense, and burning pain. After that, he would eat the flowing blood and pus as if it were food. He would also go into other similar states. This is because the explanation of the Pratimoksha itself is a praise of the Vinaya. Therefore, six verses were spoken, such as: What is the Pratimoksha? What is the Buddha's vast ocean of Vinaya? For all those without bottom or end, it is the essence and heart of abiding. The meaning of this is: Because whatever is called Pratimoksha is perfectly flourishing with many qualities and benefits. All these distinctions and details, etc., of the Vinaya are said to be a broad explanation of that Pratimoksha. Therefore, those who desire liberation should respectfully listen to the Vinaya and strive to maintain the joy of respectfully listening to the Vinaya. So, what is this Pratimoksha like? Therefore, it is said, "What is the Pratimoksha?" etc. Among them, "The Buddha's vast ocean of Vinaya" is like an ocean, in which "bottom" refers to arising, and "end" refers to the fruit. These two are immeasurable. This is what is called "The Buddha's vast ocean of Vinaya, without bottom or end." The Vinaya, that measure of a hundred thousand kotis of Vinaya oceans, its "abiding" refers to the establishment of characteristics, and "essence" refers to throwing, seed, arising, and "heart" refers to stability, immovability, which is called Pratimoksha, that is, liberation from sins, or the Sutra teachings of liberation from all samsara. This is the supreme guide of all the Dharma of the king of sacred Dharma. This is the great trading house of the monastic community's goods of training. This is called Pratimoksha.
