Therefore, this is extremely rare. The term "not dwelling" indicates the meaning of absence. The terms "this and those" are prohibitive words, indicating plurality. Therefore, even if it can be assumed that the Buddha does not dwell, in this Jambudvipa world: Desire, I know your root. You arise from all conceptualizations. Do not examine you in any way. Therefore, you will not appear to me. Such verses, and many parts of the Sutra Pitaka, such as the Sutra of the Gods, are practiced. Even if it can be assumed that the Bhagavan has appeared, if there is no entering into the training and no establishment of the training, then there is no Vinaya and no practice. Therefore, even the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, consider the Dharma and Vinaya to be very rare, let alone the Sutra Pitaka and others. This is the concluding statement. Now, to praise through examples: This is the iron hook of the unattached mind-elephant. This is the rein of the untamed object of taming. It is like a pit at the boundary of a fence. Vinaya is the reservoir of all outflows. Thus it was said. In that, "attachment" is what makes the mind focus on things, so "attachment" is samadhi. Because it is separated from that "attachment," not separated from "attachment" is not being in samadhi. That is the mind, so it is the "unattached mind." That is of the same nature as an elephant. The mind that is separated from attachment is like an elephant, so it is called "unattached mind-elephant." Just as the iron hook prevents the elephant from being out of place and makes it abide comfortably, so too, the mind that is separated from attachment, like an elephant, the iron hook that prevents it from being out of place and makes it abide comfortably is also this Vinaya, because of the similarity. The term "object of taming" refers to what is to be tamed, namely, a horse. The term "untamed" refers to what is uninstructed. The mind-horse to be tamed, that which is untamed, is like the bit of the rein of taming, and is also this Vinaya, because it can enter and leave beneficial and harmful places. The term "boundary of a fence" refers to the inner and outer boundaries. Like that pit, this Vinaya itself is also the end point of the boundary of transcendence and non-transcendence.
