The term 'pa' is a word. 'Said' means a small sore has appeared. 'Completely said' means a large sore has appeared. 'Disheveled' means slightly disheveled. 'Very disheveled' means very disheveled. 'Watching' means wanting to watch with a sense of wonder. 'The six teachers' refers to: Pūraṇa Kassapa, Makkhali Gosāla, Sañjaya Belaṭṭhiputta, Ajita Kesakambalī, Pakudha Kaccāyana, and Nigaṇṭha Nāṭaputta, who are the guides of the heretics. 'To contemplate' means to discriminate. 'Knowing' means with wisdom. 'Seeing' means with the eyes. 'Perceiving' means with the ears. 'Completely knowing' means completely knowing with the mind. 'Having great compassion' means generated by unsurpassed compassion. 'Entering to benefit the world' means through following and accomplishing. 'The sole protector' means constantly having the door-protector of mindfulness closely established. 'Uniquely brave' means not relying on friends. 'Without a second' means without a second that is the same. 'Not speaking two words' means speaking with extreme certainty, that is, not speaking contradictory words. 'Entering through tranquility and insight', where tranquility is called samādhi, because it pacifies faults. Insight is called wise discernment, because it makes the person of insight wise. 'Making the three knowledges clear' means showing the three knowledges of knowing past lives, death and rebirth, and the exhaustion of defilements. 'Well-trained in the three trainings' means following and accomplishing the three trainings of higher discipline, higher mind, and higher wisdom. 'Skilled in the basis of the three places of taming' means skilled in the three places of taming with one taste of gentleness, one taste of harshness, and a mixture of gentleness and harshness. 'Crossing the four rivers' means crossing the rivers of desire, existence, views, and ignorance. 'Acting with the four miraculous feet'.

Being called "well-established on the base" refers to the miraculous foot that possesses the diligence of abandoning the samadhi of desire, as well as the miraculous foot that possesses the diligence of abandoning the samadhi of mind, diligence, and discernment. Being called "having practiced the four objects of collection for a long time" refers to having become accustomed to generosity, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with the Dharma for a long time. Being called "not being daunted by the four fearlessnesses" refers to not being afraid of realizing complete perfect enlightenment, as well as indicating the path that will surely lead to the arising of what is good, and truthfully revealing the obstructing Dharma, and taking a great vow in the assembly, and truthfully proclaiming the lion's roar in the retinue. Being called "abandoning the five limbs" refers to abandoning the five limbs of cyclic existence, which are desire for desire, malice, dullness and sleep, regret, excitement, and doubt. Being called "having completely transcended the five destinies" refers to transcending the five destinies of gods, humans, hell beings, animals, and hungry ghosts. Being called "possessing six limbs" refers to the realm of miraculous powers, the divine ear, the enumeration of minds, death, birth, knowing and attaining the exhaustion of defilements. Being called "perfecting the six perfections" refers to perfecting the perfections of generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, for the sake of increasing them. Being called "abiding by the six constant abidings" refers to the six objects to be known by the consciousnesses of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, and constantly abiding with mindfulness and awareness. Being called "rich in the flowers of the seven branches of enlightenment" refers to the branch of enlightenment of perfect mindfulness, discrimination of Dharma, diligence, joy, tranquility, samadhi, and equanimity. Being called "showing the eightfold path" refers to perfect view, perfect thought, perfect speech, perfect karmic action, and perfect livelihood.

并且,以正精进、正念、正定之自性,作为引导圣道的导师。所谓精通九次第住,即四禅、四无色定与灭尽定。所谓具有十力,即知是处非处智力、知业果智力、知种种胜解智力、知种种界智力、知一切至处道智力、知宿住随念智力、知死生智力、知漏尽智力。所谓名声遍扬十方,十方即四方、四隅以及上下。所谓超越百千之主宰,百千即千世界。彼处之主宰为轮王,即于千世界中自在之梵天。超越彼者,即以威力更胜。所谓日三夜三,即白昼之早晨、中午、下午三时,夜晚之初夜、中夜、末夜三时。所谓以佛眼,即以一切智智。所谓于世间,即于三界之有情。所谓如理观察,即个别观察。所谓衰损,即从彼等堕落。所谓增长,即善法等逐渐增多。所谓损害,即身体之痛苦。所谓忧恼,即与可爱分离之痛苦。所谓不安乐,即与不可爱相遇之痛苦。所谓趋向、降临、流入,即以小、中、大之方式明显趋向。所谓高处,即天界。所谓解脱,即涅槃。

And, by the very nature of right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration, he acts as a guide on the noble path. Being skilled in the nine successive states of abiding means the four dhyanas, the four formless states, and the cessation of feeling and perception. Having the ten powers means the power of knowing what is possible and impossible, the power of knowing the maturation of karma, the power of knowing the various inclinations, the power of knowing the various realms, the power of knowing the path that leads everywhere, the power of knowing the recollection of former lives, the power of knowing death and rebirth, and the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements. Having a reputation that is perfectly spread in the ten directions means that the ten directions are the four directions, the four intermediate directions, and above and below. Being superior to the master of hundreds of thousands means that hundreds of thousands are the thousandfold world system. The master there is the wheel-turning monarch, namely, Brahma who has power in the thousandfold world system. Being superior to that means being superior in power. Three times during the day and three times during the night means the three parts of the day: morning, noon, and afternoon; and the three watches of the night: the first, middle, and last. By the Buddha's eye means by the wisdom of omniscience. In the world means in the beings of the three realms. Having thoroughly seen means having individually examined. Declining means falling from those. Increasing means that virtues and so forth gradually increase. Harm means physical suffering. Distress means the suffering of being separated from what is pleasing. Discomfort means the suffering of encountering what is displeasing. Inclining, descending, and flowing means manifestly inclining in the manner of small, medium, and large. High realm means the world of the gods. Liberation means nirvana.
