Masapa na, whatever is perceived by body, purity, and mind is existence, which is the state of the five aggregates. The term "grasping" refers to the act of running in four directions when seeking enjoyment, which is grasping, the state of the five aggregates. The term "craving" refers to the state in which all three feelings arise, and the desire to fully enjoy the desire and attachment arising from behavior, that is existence. The aggregates are this, the cause is this, the basis is this. For example, when completely cutting off suffering, completely abandoning harmful causes, not clinging to fire, not stabbing with weapons, not relying on impure things, but generating craving for food, not generating attachment arising from behavior, that is feeling, the state of the five aggregates. The term "contact" refers to the arising of contact from the gathering of the senses, objects, and consciousness, neither completely cutting off pleasure and pain, nor abandoning harmful things, not clinging to fire, not relying on poison, weapons, and impure things, that is contact, the state of the five aggregates. The term "six sense sources" refers to the arising of the six sense sources of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, and as long as the three of sense, object, and consciousness have gathered but contact has not arisen, that is the six sense sources, the state of the five aggregates. The term "name and form" refers to the intermediate stage when the six sense sources have not yet arisen during connection, appearing as blurred, soft, and hardened states, and the state of moving limbs, that is name and form, the state of the five aggregates. The term "consciousness" refers to the moment when consciousness connects in the mother's womb, which is the state of the five aggregates. "My mind returns from consciousness" means that after recognizing consciousness, the mind returns from there. "It does not enter thereafter" means that the mind does not enter consciousness thereafter, and the cause of consciousness is action.

is its nature. The cause of action is the nature of ignorance. In order to know this, my mind did not enter, this is the concluding statement. Then, why didn't the Bodhisattva examine the two limbs, namely ignorance and action? Because they had already been examined before. Thus, the three limbs of existence, namely ignorance, existence, and grasping, are the nature of affliction. When craving and grasping are examined, then ignorance has also been examined. The two limbs of existence, namely action and existence, are the nature of karma. When craving is examined, then action has also been examined. Then, consider the seven limbs of existence: consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, feeling, birth, and old age and death, which are the basis of karma and affliction, and therefore are the nature of the basis. When old age and death are examined, then name, form, the six sense sources, contact, and feeling have also been examined. When birth is examined, then consciousness has also been examined. If this is the case, why are they still examined? Because old age and death and birth were previously examined in brief, and later, in order to examine them extensively, name and form and so on, and consciousness are examined, so there is no fault in this. Then, if there is no distinction between brief and extensive for consciousness, why is consciousness examined twice? Because the Bodhisattva is afraid of birth, therefore consciousness is examined twice. Thus, when he thinks of old age and death, he thinks, "From where does this meaningless thing come?" He sees that it comes from birth. He also thinks, "By what is birth accomplished?" He sees that it is accomplished by karma. He also thinks, "By what is karma instigated?" He sees that it is instigated by affliction, and that affliction depends on a basis. If he thinks, "By what is the basis accomplished?" He sees that it is accomplished by birth, and then he thinks, "All these meaningless things come from birth," therefore

Moreover, due to the weariness of birth, consciousness is examined again and again. Because all these sufferings are produced by birth, therefore, his mind turns away from consciousness and no longer enters into it. Thus, this is a conclusion. The great mass of suffering refers to terms like plague, harm, contagious disease, and strife. "Solely" refers to terms that are taken, completed, and fully perfected. "This" refers to terms that indicate universally and closely. "Will occur" means will be born. "Formations" refers to the state of merit and non-merit karma from a previous life, which are the formations of this life, namely the state of the five aggregates. "Ignorance" refers to the state of afflictions from a previous life, which is the ignorance of this life, namely the state of the five aggregates. Why then does a Bodhisattva examine ten limbs of existence in the direction of entering, but examine twelve in the direction of cessation? A Bodhisattva hates the direction of entering, but delights in and desires the direction of cessation. Therefore, twelve limbs are examined in the direction of cessation, and there is no fault in this. This comes from the treatises of the Vaibhashika school. Eleventh fascicle. "Previous" means ancient. "Path" means great path. "Going" means the one going. "Path-trace" means the trace left by the wheel of a chariot. They indicate that it is indeed the great path, and thus it is said that this path has crossed the river, will cross, and is crossing. The previous sages have passed away and follow after, which means that the previous sages, such as the Tathagatas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Shravakas, have passed away first, and the Shravakas follow after them. This indicates that it is precisely the path followed by the great ones. Excellent forest means very far away in an excellent forest. Good means beautiful. Forest
