The author's compositions are as follows: Matters such as the begging bowl and Dharma robes should not be handled without permission. What actions can be performed immediately when one is young? These include telling ghost stories, saying "please come," congratulating each other, answering questions, saying "welcome," and so on, as well as splashing water with hands, applying substances to hands and feet, dusting clothes, and so forth. These can be done without permission. If these matters are reported, they will become a source of ridicule. For a monk who has broken his vows, all of these should be reported, except for the teacher, Khenpo, and fellow monks. Now, the discipline of abiding will be discussed. Therefore, it is said, "such as this," etc. These are worldly matters and are not beyond the cycle of existence. "If abiding" means "if it occurs." "Alas, we" indicates accomplishing in the manner of desire. "Do" refers to oneself. "Let others do" refers to others. Thus, striving to accomplish most things means striving greatly to accomplish, which is synonymous with "do diligently." "Caring for the sick" refers to providing food and inferior offerings, and so on. "Regret" refers to remorse in the mind, the arising of remorse in order to purify transgressions such as offenses. In "the form of sinful views," "sinful" refers to not desiring maturation (of karma). "The form of views" refers to forms of extreme views such as eternalism and nihilism, that is, those dharmas that the Blessed One said would cause obstructions, will not become obstructions, and so forth, and such forms of views. "Coercive action" refers to the action of severing, because it causes one to fall from a state of complete purity and places one in a lower state. "The action of intimidation" refers to intimidating monks who cause disputes, such as monks wearing red robes, with admonishments and the four karmas. "The action of reproach" refers to those with virtuous qualities, such as monks

Those who constantly commit Saṃghāvaśeṣa offenses and repeatedly commit them without correcting the previous ones should be punished with admonition and the four acts (referring to the four karmas of admonition, threat, expulsion, and banishment). The so-called expulsion karma refers to those who do not give up making laypeople disgusted with monks, such as those who act quickly, the sick, etc., and therefore do not give gatherings, do not give opportunities, and say that they have not seen the offense, should be expelled with admonition and the four acts. The so-called banishment karma refers to monks who despise laypeople, etc., should be banished with admonition and the four acts. The karma of expelling from the dwelling place because of not seeing refers to monks who rely on the Saṃgha, saying that they have not seen the offense, and are unwilling to correct it afterward, should be expelled from the dwelling place with admonition and the four acts. The karma of expelling from the dwelling place because of not correcting refers to those who have a reputation for offenses to the Saṃgha, etc., but do not correct them, and are bound in a way that makes it impossible to correct them, and do not correct them improperly, should be expelled from the dwelling place with admonition and the four acts. The karma of expelling from the dwelling place because of not abandoning the appearance of evil views refers to monks who hold evil views such as annihilationism, and those who do not abandon the appearance of evil views should be expelled from the dwelling place with admonition and the four acts. The so-called wanting to do means starting to do. Doing such a difficult karma means that it has been completed. For these people, the Saṃgha should endure and strive to accomplish very important tasks. If the Saṃgha is to endure the difficult karma that has been completed, then it should not be attached to scolding, anger, and rebuke, should not be attached to the Saṃgha's disadvantage, should not be attached to wanting to make it have nowhere to go, should not be attached to the elder, junior, and relatives as reliance, should not be attached to the Saṃgha not being a reliance, should not hold the banners of laypeople and heretics, should not rely on heretics, should not rely on heretics, should not do what should not be done, and should not fail to learn the precepts of monks.
