It is said to be done three times. After making three prostrations, what should be done after that? Therefore, it is said that after that, one should request the preceptor. One who wishes to receive full ordination should request the preceptor in the center of the Sangha. On a cushion with grass spread on it, pressing down with both heels, make him squat. It is said that squatting on a cushion with both heels pressing down, squatting for a long time is painful, therefore this is allowed. When receiving full ordination, except for blessing the robes and bowl, and secretly revealing, requesting the preceptor, requesting full ordination, listening to the Karmacharya asking about obstacles, answering them, and all occasions such as receiving full ordination, the person to be fully ordained should be made to sit on the cushion with both feet pressing down. Here, the cushion is to be known as a mat.

It should be spoken as it appears in the scriptures themselves. After requesting the preceptor, what should the preceptor do? Therefore, after that, the preceptor himself should bless those three Dharma robes, it is said. The term "preceptor" refers to the preceptor who is about to grant full ordination, to show it immediately. Then, the word "himself" is unnecessary. The preceptor should bless the three Dharma robes from that. These two words are also for understanding the meaning. Why is it necessary to say "himself"? It is not like that. Saying "himself" is to abandon the entrusted ritual. For example, even if cutting hair and beard, and examining the genitals, etc., are done by others, there is no fault. Such uncertain rituals are called entrusted rituals. Here, blessing the Dharma robes is something that the preceptor himself should do, not letting others do it. For that meaning, the word "himself" is spoken. "That" refers to the one who is about to receive full ordination. In this way, the meaning of the words here is this: that preceptor himself, for the one who is about to receive full ordination, if he already has the three Dharma robes that have been sewn, or if he does not have them, then he should also bless other items. After blessing, he should put them on, because blessing the Dharma robes is for conforming to the ritual. The sewn Dharma robes refer to the nine-piece robe, three and a half widths, the seven-piece robe, three and a half widths, and the five-piece robe, two and a half widths, which have already been sewn. Both stand up, holding the Dharma robe kasaya with their hands, which means that blessing the Dharma robes and other clothes, one should stand in front of the one receiving ordination, and both hold that item with their hands, reciting the blessing mantra. "Do" refers to the weaver. "Hand" refers to washing, mending, changing color, etc. "Suitable" refers to being free from sheep's wool and deer's wool, etc. "Suitable for use" means being able to endure use, being able to wear it.
