Now, observation is good, because it corresponds to Nirvana. Therefore, among all the views of the outsiders, it is said that: non-self. No possession of self. I will not arise. My possession will not arise, this is the most excellent, because it is thought that way, so it is said "For them, the noble disciple is endowed with hearing," and so on. "For" means specifically designated. "Noble" refers to the Buddha and the Buddha's disciples who are far from sinful and unwholesome dharmas. "Their disciple" means listening respectfully, which is a synonym for "disciple." To discriminate in this way means to discriminate as described below. "Controversy" means abiding with the intention to harm. "Regret" means the nature of speaking harshly and refuting, which is a synonym for "struggle." "Harm" means striking with fists and palms, etc. "For me" refers to the noble disciple. Therefore, this shows that all views generated by superior intention cause harm in this life and the next, so they must be avoided and eliminated in every way. There are two bases for controversy in samsara: excessive attachment to views and excessive attachment to desires. Of these two, in order to completely eliminate excessive attachment to views, the Dharma has been taught on this. Now, in order to completely eliminate excessive attachment to desires, the teaching of the Dharma will be started, therefore it is said "This son of entering fire" and so on. In this way, excessive attachment to desire arises from the power of feeling, because tasting the taste of feeling leads to excessive attachment to desires. The taste of feeling is also accomplished by the body with the senses, therefore, in order to dispel excessive attachment to the body, this order of explanation has been started. "Body" refers to the aggregate of the elements and what is born from the elements, which is the nature of destruction. "Form" means that because it can be harmed, it is form, because there is form here.

O! The mention of "coarse" is to negate the form of existence in the intermediate state. The phrase "arisen from the four great elements" indicates that it is not created by Ishvara and others. The phrase "again and again" means at all times. In the phrase "abiding by observing arising and ceasing," "arising" means production, and "ceasing" means destruction. Observing these two means examining. Alternatively, it should be observed that the body, which is shown to be of a compounded nature, arises and ceases in an instant. As it is said in the sutra: "Bhikkhu, you are of instant arising, aging, dying, decaying, and arising." Therefore, "mindfulness of the body" and so on are different names and different meanings. Thus, when the Blessed One teaches the Dharma, for those trainees who are distracted and do not understand the meaning, the Blessed One explains the meaning with other words. Or, the Blessed One explains that meaning with other collections of names, collections of sentences, and collections of letters. For those who have not encountered the training, the Blessed One explains that meaning with other collections of names, collections of sentences, and collections of letters in order to train them by explaining that meaning. Or, in order for those who came later and have not heard it to hear it, as in the Vaibhashika scriptures, the venerable Aniruddha explains, "The Blessed One, after the previous trainees have reached the end of the related explanation, when other trainees arrive, he trains them by explaining, and explains that meaning with other collections of names, collections of sentences, and collections of letters," just like that. Or, the Blessed One knows that the people who listen to the Dharma are dull-witted and cannot grasp the meaning of a single word of explanation, therefore he explains many synonyms. Or, "mindfulness of the body" refers to the words of explanation, which are explanations that go from higher to higher. This method should also be understood in the same way for other words such as synonyms that appear below. Or, it can also be explained that those meanings are different.
