The so-called "fruit" refers to the fruit of the master. The so-called "vipāka" refers to the fruit of vipāka. This wrong view of denying the fruit should be abandoned by seeing suffering. The arising of this wrong view is also due to the views of the Cārvākas and the Samāpattikas on the fruit of vipāka in the Vaibhāṣika school. Among them, firstly, the Cārvākas, some people kill but live long, steal but have great wealth, harm others but have few diseases; some people do not kill but have short lives, do not steal but have little wealth, do not harm others but have many diseases, they think like this: if good and bad actions have fruits and vipāka, then killing should lead to short life, stealing should lead to little wealth, harming others should lead to many diseases; not killing should lead to long life, not stealing should lead to great wealth, not harming others should lead to few diseases, it should be like this, but it is not like this, because the appearance is reversed, therefore good and bad actions have no fruits and vipāka, they think like this, they say like this. The Samāpattikas, some people kill, steal, harm others but are born in the heavens, some people do not kill, do not steal, do not harm others but are born in the evil realms, they think like this: if good and bad actions have fruits and vipāka, then killing, stealing, harming others should lead to birth in the evil realms; not killing, not stealing, not harming others should lead to birth in the heavens, it should be like this, but it is not like this, because the appearance is reversed, therefore good and bad actions have no fruits and vipāka, they think like this, they say like this.

This world does not exist. The other world does not exist. Mother does not exist. Father does not exist. Sentient beings do not exist by way of spontaneous birth. These five statements serve to refute the reality of both cause and effect. Among them, "this world does not exist" means that this world will not become the cause of the next life. "The other world does not exist" means that the next life will not become the result of this life. Thus, the reality of cause and effect implies that neither this world nor the other world exists. Alternatively, "this world does not exist" refers to the act of slandering the karma that will be experienced in this life. "The other world does not exist" refers to the act of slandering the karma that will be experienced after birth, and in other instances. This wrong view of slandering cause and effect is to be abandoned by seeing the origin, and it is to be abandoned by seeing suffering. The instigation for this is said in the Vaibhashika treatises that this type of view arises for those non-Buddhists who believe that there is nothing before and nothing after destruction. They see that phenomena arise from nothing before and are also destroyed after arising, so they think to themselves: just as these phenomena arise from not having arisen, so too, after arising, they will be destroyed, therefore this world does not exist. The other world does not exist, they see it that way and speak that way. Mother does not exist. Father does not exist, which is to slander the karma that causes a son to exist. Or, it is to slander the merit that arises from the cause of repaying parents. This wrong view of slandering cause and effect is to be abandoned by seeing the origin. The instigation for this is said in the Vaibhashika treatises that this type of view arises for those non-Buddhists who believe that if one does not exist, the other does not exist. They think to themselves: what arises from the union of the two parents is merely that a son is born from it, even unwillingly, when the thought of wanting to create meets. For example, in heavy, unclean, filthy, muddy, grass and water, and blue roots, etc.,

Those born of sex, they think, are like having neither father nor mother. It is also like this: the senses are wavering, and women are greedy for pleasure. I was born during menstruation, what can you do about it? It's like they say. Saying that there are no spontaneously born beings is to prevent the existence of the intermediate state. This wrong view of slandering cause and effect should be abandoned by seeing the origin (collection in suffering, origin, cessation, path), and should be abandoned by seeing suffering. The initiation of this is that, from the Sautrāntika school's Lokāyata, it is said that this annihilationist view and the way of seeing arise. Because these people have not truly seen spontaneously born beings, they think like this: the existence of the intermediate state is completely non-existent, therefore they say that there are no spontaneously born beings, they see it this way, and they say it this way. In the world, those Arhats who have truly realized and truly accomplished, those who in this life realize this world and the next with their own direct perception and accomplish it, and make people understand by saying: We have exhausted birth and death, have practiced pure conduct, have done what should be done, and no longer know of existence other than this existence, this is to prevent the path of liberation. Among them, Arhat, is because he has cut off the enemy of the three realms of afflictions, or because he is worthy of being offered by all sentient beings. This wrong view of slandering the noble path should be abandoned by seeing the path. In order to show the difference of the Arhat, it is said that he has truly realized and truly accomplished. Truly realized, refers to the Nirvana realized by those who possess the true wisdom of the Arhat. This wrong view of slandering Nirvana should be abandoned by seeing cessation. Truly accomplished, refers to the four paths, in the Sutra it is said that there is a path of slow and difficult direct perception, there is a path of slow and easy direct perception, there is a path of fast and difficult direct perception, there is a path of fast and easy direct perception, as it is said, truly and without error accomplished.
