Abiding and acting according to the teachings. When asked, "Who is the teacher?" the answer is: Thus it is said. Among them, "I" refers not to the "I" established by non-Buddhists, but to make others understand, or to the word of unparalleled greatness. The so-called "once Nirvana" has two types: Nirvana with remainder and Nirvana without remainder, here referring to Nirvana without remainder. The so-called "this" refers to this itself. The so-called "your teacher" refers to the teacher of the nuns, teaching that they should be regarded as the Tathagata. The so-called "self-born" means not born from other causes, but because the Tathagata himself realized the nature of Dharma and attained perfect enlightenment. The so-called "you yourself strive" means to truly declare this. The so-called "manifestly praised" means to manifestly declare to the Shravakas to look upon this as a teacher. Now, it is declared to encourage practice, therefore, from the sound of "Buddha" to "strive for hearing" has been declared. Here, it is also divided into four types: seeing and hearing the teacher, and declaring that obtaining a human body is extremely difficult, and declaring that abandoning unfavorable conditions and obtaining pure conduct is extremely difficult, and declaring that obtaining a virtuous friend is extremely difficult, and concluding and encouraging effort. In terms of seeing and hearing the teacher, and declaring that obtaining a human body is extremely difficult, it is declared that "The name of Buddha, in the world, is extremely rare, and obtaining a human body is also difficult." Among them, the so-called Buddha refers to awakening from the sleep of ignorance, like awakening from sleep, tending towards awakening. Because wisdom blossoms and grows, like a lotus blossoming and growing, summarizing the meaning of the words, because of understanding all dharmas and attaining complete enlightenment without remainder, it is called Buddha. Among them, the so-called human refers to being born from strength and knowledge, therefore, things are to be desired. Or, because they cause those who possess hearing to remember, they are called humans, Yogacharas.

The commentary says: Why is the word "Buddha" rare in the world? Because it is extremely difficult for a Buddha to appear in the world. How is it proven? In the Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Law, it says: "Monks, it is difficult to obtain the appearance of Tathagatas, Arhats, and Samyak-sambuddhas. Even in countless billions of hundreds of thousands of kalpas, one may or may not see a Tathagata in the world, just like the Udumbara flower." This is what the sutra says. The Sutra of the King of Definitive Differentiation says: "Ananda, for example, the Udumbara flower appears at the same time as the birth of a Buddha. Some buds bloom and are bright, and the light they emit spreads throughout a yojana. That flower eliminates dimness, completely purifies memory, thoroughly pacifies diseases, eliminates foul odors and makes them manifest, and also emits a fragrant scent. That scent makes the four elements clear. Even a universal monarch cannot obtain this flower, let alone those who have broken their vows. How could they see a flower that is the same as the birth of a Buddha?" This is what the sutra says. What is that flower like? Where and when does it grow? The Jataka Sutra says: "Beyond the great dragon lake Anavatapta, to the north, there is a mountain called Five Peaks Mountain. Opposite that mountain, there is an Udumbara garden. When the Buddha Bhagavan descends from the Tushita heaven and enters his mother's womb, that garden will bud. When he is born from his mother's womb, that garden will bloom. When he attains unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment and becomes a Buddha, the flowers of that garden will also flourish. When he abandons the aggregates of life, that garden will wither. When he completely enters nirvana, the leaves, flowers, petals, and fruits of that garden will also fall. The size of that flower is like a chariot wheel. When the Buddha Bhagavan appears in the royal caste, the color of those flowers will turn white. If it is of the Brahmin caste...
