It is for the sake of placing in a state of well-being. The saying "the ocean is deep and has no other shore" is an analogy for the abundance of the Vinaya. Just as the ocean has no other shore and no depth, because it is numerous and profound, so too the Vinaya is numerous and profound, difficult for sentient beings to understand, and in order to include all of these in this sutra. The text says, "The body has no depth or other shore." This is because, from the perspective of ignorant reasoning, the verses are not comfortable, so one should understand it in that way, where everything is spoken. Here, "place" refers to the basis or support of the Vinaya, like a foundation, because the Pratimoksha resides here. The term "essence of the heart" means that the teachings spoken by the Teacher are contained within it, and because it is secret, it is the essence. And the essence of these is the Pratimoksha, so it is called the essence. The phrase "this is the Pratimoksha" indicates that this itself is being shown. This indicates that it is secret. Therefore, it is said: "This is the king of the true Dharma, the unwritten collection of the true Dharma." Here, "this" refers to the Pratimoksha itself. The term "king of the true Dharma" means that just as a king rules over a country and its people, so too the Tathagata has mastery over all phenomena, both mundane and supramundane, and is therefore called the king of the true Dharma. The phrase "it is the unwritten collection of the true Dharma" means that among the twelve scriptures, the Sutras and Abhidharma are to be written and taught, but the Vinaya is secret, so it should be written in the mind and held. For future beings with weak faculties, it is also permitted to write and teach. In the Minor Matters Sutra, the Venerable Upali asked the Bhagavan: "Venerable One, in the future, there will be monks who have lost their memory and whose memory is weak. Wherever they live, in towns or cities, if they do not know how to abide and establish the basis of training, how should they diligently practice?" The Bhagavan replied: "Those who have lost their memory and whose memory is weak should write the Vinaya on leaves and carry them, and do not have doubts about it." This is because it is said in the sutra. To show that this is the supreme cause, it is said: "This is the great marketplace of the bhikkhu merchants' goods of training."

Ya ba (ྱ་བ་) said, the meaning of this is understood from the analogy. Just as merchants buy and sell precious jewels in the market, seeking profit, so too should the bhikkhunis take this training as a commodity, seeking unsurpassed benefit. Therefore, the Pratimoksha is the source of the noble ones, hence the training is called the great market. The so-called "this" refers to the Pratimoksha itself. The so-called bhikkhuni refers to seeking and pursuing the meaning of nirvana, receiving full ordination through petition and the four karmas, and living by begging alms in accordance with the Dharma, hence the name bhikkhuni. The so-called training refers to taking the precepts as guidance, learning and practicing to eliminate afflictions, hence the name training. The so-called great is because the Pratimoksha is the unsurpassed commodity, and there is nothing else to compare. The rest are just expressions of words. In order to explain the antidote to breaking the precepts, it is said: "In order to explain, this is the medicine that eliminates the harm caused by bad precepts." For example, just as poison is used to treat those who are infected by poison, bad precepts, that is, through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, engaging in unwholesome actions, if one can cease from them and act as described in the sutra, one can be liberated from those unwholesome actions and obtain happiness. Therefore, for the poison infected by bad precepts, the Pratimoksha is like medicine. The so-called precepts are derived from the Sanskrit word "śīla (梵文天城体:śīla,梵文罗马拟音:śīla,汉语字面意思:戒)", which refers to entering into virtuous conduct, guarding with pure precepts, thereby abandoning the name of unwholesomeness. Another explanation is that it refers to the name of pacifying and cooling the suffering of afflictions like fire. In reality, it refers to the name of not committing unwholesome actions by behavior and means, and guarding the precepts, hence it is called precepts. In order to explain the antidote to negligence, it is said: "This is the iron hook for the young elephant of lost youth." For example, an elephant in its prime, jumping and walking wantonly in places of amusement, etc., may even endanger its own life, and at the same time cause many beings to die and be frightened, thereby causing harm to oneself and others. To this, the expert in elephant lore
