Giving by saying 'use the land,' that is for a time. Less than five patches was not allowed before. 'Bowl' means blessed, that is, fit to be used. 'Seeking another bowl' means the second. 'Desiring good' means desiring the best. 'Bowl accomplished' means obtaining a bowl. 'That bhikshuni' means any bhikshuni. 'Bowl' means the remaining bowl. 'Offer to the bhikshuni sangha' means appointing a bhikshuni who distributes bowls, endowed with five qualities, with a request and two karmas, distributed by the abbot, becoming the last of all. A bowl that has not been blessed by a bhikshuni, before entrusting it, give with careful conduct until the end breaks. She should also make two bowl containers, put the unblessed bowl inside the good one, and put the blessed one inside the bad one. If the food is good and soft, and the container is not durable, then put it in the unblessed one. Bad, coarse food should be put in the blessed one. If there is someone to carry it, entrust the blessed one to him. Carry the one without patches yourself. If there is no one to carry it, carry the blessed one on the right shoulder, and hold the unpatched one on the left shoulder. Continue until the end breaks and it cannot be used. 'Nissaggiya Pacittiya' means the same as before. What kind of offense is it? If a bhikshuni's bowl breaks, and she mends it with one patch, and it can be used, without mending it, even though there is a bowl that can be used, she seeks another bowl, if she obtains an offense, it is Nissaggiya Pacittiya. Similarly, up to five patches is the same as that. A bhikshuni's bowl will break, and she mends it with one patch, and it can be used, in that way, even though there is a bowl that can be used, she seeks another bowl, it is an offense. What is obtained is Nissaggiya Pacittiya. Similarly, up to four patches is the same as above. That which a bhikshuni has mended with five patches, whether she mends it or not, if she seeks another bowl, there is no offense. If it is obtained by purchasing or exchanging for value, there is no offense. The initial karma.

There is no fault for Opa and others. The fourteenth of expiation is complete. The Blessed One was staying in Shravasti. Then, the nun Bhomma-dga' thought to herself: After the Blessed One established the training rules, I cannot obtain even a little profit. So, at the east gate of Shravasti, there were about five hundred widows spinning cotton thread. She went to them, and one of them spread a mat, prostrated to her, and sat to one side. Bhomma-dga' began to teach them the Dharma, saying: You were born as humans because you did good deeds in the past, so why don't you accumulate provisions for the next life now? They said: Then what do you command? Can you give the Sangha of nuns a paśos (a type of cloth) and give each one a garment? The Holy Mother has no wealth. Then can you give to the twelve assemblies? The Holy Mother cannot. Then can you give to me alone? You cannot. Then can all of you give me two sho (equivalent to two silver coins) of thread? They said: We can. So, they gave her two sho each, and Bhomma-dga' said to a weaver who had a young wife: Weave this cloth. He wove it and gave it to Bhomma-dga'. Bhomma-dga' went to the south, north, and west of Shravasti. In this way, after collecting thread, she went to the weaver and had him weave the cloth. The weaver said: I have already eaten the previous cloth on credit, and my family's spinning wheel has not been paid off, so I cannot weave. Bhomma-dga' became angry and reported to the nun Utpalavarna, and sent a person called the Great Minister. Then she collected thread again and had her own horse carry it. She had all the weavers weave the cloth, but the weaver recognized the thread and said he would not weave. Bhomma-dga' said to the Great Minister: He should be put in prison. He did so and put him in prison. The weaver was afraid and wove the cloth, and gave it to Bhomma-dga'. Because he did not receive the expected reward, he cursed and said unpleasant words. After reporting this matter to the Blessed One, the Blessed One established the training rule. If a nun has thread that she has begged for herself, and has a non-relative weaver weave cloth for her, it is an offense of expiation.
