The act of abandoning and not giving. To cause faith to arise in those who do not have faith means to cause householders who have not found faith to find faith. To cause those who have faith to become even more steadfast means that those who have found faith should protect their minds. To restrain the defilements of this life, to restrain the defilements of this life, the defilements of this life are all entanglements, which should be abandoned. To destroy the defilements of future lives, the defilements of future lives are habits, which should be abandoned. May my pure conduct abide long, and may it be widely and correctly proclaimed to gods, humans, and many beings, That is to say, the teachings abide long through the manner of transmission from one collection of texts to another, as it appears in the Compendium of the Vinaya. From the Summary of the Explanation of the Treatise on the Stages of Yoga Practice: To gather the Sangha is a statement of the summary. To perfect the Sangha is to completely abandon the extreme of striving after the enjoyment of desires. To cause the Sangha to dwell in happiness is to completely abandon the extreme of striving after one's own exhaustion. To discipline those who do not admit their faults is to be strict with those who have broken their vows. To cause those who know shame to dwell in happiness is to cause those who keep their vows to be without regret. To cause faith to arise in those who do not have faith is to lead those who have not entered to enter. To cause those who have faith to become even more steadfast is to cause those who have entered to become fully mature. To restrain the defilements of this life is to subdue all the entanglements of the afflictions and to act in accordance with them. To destroy the defilements of future lives is to clarify the aspiration to abide in pure conduct and to act in accordance with abandoning the habits of the afflictions. May my pure conduct benefit many beings.

It is said that "for the benefit of the vast, for the correct and complete display between gods and humans, for the long-term existence," this is to prevent the Dharma from being interrupted. In the Yogacara school's "Vinaya Compendium," it is also said: "For the sake of gathering the Sangha," this means that it starts from gathering those who have completely renounced their homes with faith from the four castes. Thus, by following the Dharma that has a basis, has a definite arising, has the ability to subdue others, and has miraculous powers, it should be understood that the Sangha will become good. Making the Sangha live in peace should be understood in five ways: having the necessary conditions, eliminating those who are not in accordance with the Dharma, eliminating the arising of regret, subduing the entanglement of afflictions, and eliminating the latent tendencies of afflictions. Among them, with regard to the first peaceful dwelling, it is said that "it is to make those who do not have faith generate faith, and to increase the faith of those who already have faith." With regard to the second, it is said that "it is to punish those who do not cause harm." With regard to the third, it is said that "it is to make those who know shame live in peace." With regard to the fourth, it is said that "it is to prevent the leakage of this life." With regard to the fifth, it is said that "it is to destroy the leakage of future lives." In order to make those who have attained live in peace, and in order to make those who have not attained and have not entered enter in peace, it is said that "my Brahmacharya benefits many beings, becomes vast, is correctly and completely displayed between gods and humans, and will live for a long time." In short, all of these are to completely show the methods of gathering, gathering well, making those who have been gathered live in peace, and making those who have not been gathered in the future enter in peace, which is another name. Therefore, in order to see the ten benefits, the Blessed One proclaimed the precepts of the Vinaya to the Shravakas. And the Bhikshunis...
