Praise from the perspective of renunciation, because those who are fearless in all directions cause all groups of non-Buddhists to be afraid. The meaning of "prostration" is: joining the palms of the ten fingers. It is said that there are many kinds of offerings, but here, joining the palms expresses respect, so other offerings are not shown. With the aim of making them hold it correctly, the Pratimoksha will be explained. "This discipline, you should listen." It is said from this sentence to "This Pratimoksha is like a thin gruel." This can also be divided into four types: making them listen, urging them to practice truthfully, making them practice without distraction, and making them practice without clinging to views. Making them listen means: "The Pratimoksha will be explained, this discipline, you should listen." The meaning of Pratimoksha is as previously explained. "Will be explained" refers to the time of recitation. "Discipline" means that in order to subdue all defilements such as immediate desire, it is called discipline, as previously explained. "You should listen" means to listen only to the Pratimoksha Sutra, which means to gather the senses and listen. Urging them to practice truthfully means: "After hearing, the great sage, be diligent and respectful towards the subtle sins." This is because they are urged to practice as the Tathagata said. "After hearing" means through the ear sense. "Sage" also refers to those who have wisdom, also refers to those whose wishes are fulfilled, and also refers to those who are upright in body, speech, and mind. Here, "great sage" refers to the Bhagavan, because he flourishes with discipline. The mention of "great" is to distinguish him from the sages of worldly people, Arhats, and Pratyekabuddhas. "Sins" refers to those who are blamed by the noble ones, that is, the evil deeds that have been done. "Towards the subtle" refers to the precepts that have been established, because it is emphasized that these precepts should be taken seriously.
