Then it is a downfall. If a bhikṣuṇī bathes halfway with a householder woman, she commits a downfall. The one hundred and seventy-second downfall is complete. At that time, the Blessed One was in Rājagṛha (རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་, Rājagṛha, राजगृह, Royal City, present-day Rajgir in Bihar). At that time, the royal caste and the Brahmin caste were friendly, and they gathered together to play, competing in throwing, skills, and various tasks. In such competitions, the royal caste was skilled in warfare, and the Brahmin caste was skilled in singing and dancing. Later, the royal caste could not defeat the Brahmins, so they went to the plump joyful woman and asked, "Holy mother, do you know how to dance?" The plump joyful woman said, "I do." They said, "Please teach us." She said, "It's okay if I have a reward." They also gave many rewards. After that, the plump joyful woman taught Garsha Dzaga and Ke'ur and other various dances, so the royal caste could defeat the Brahmins. The Brahmins ridiculed the plump joyful woman and did not believe, so they established precepts. Furthermore, if a bhikṣuṇī dances, she commits a downfall. If a bhikṣuṇī dances herself, she commits a downfall. If she makes others dance, she also commits a downfall. If she watches dancing, she also commits a downfall. There is no fault in making them dance for the sake of offering to the Three Jewels. The one hundred and seventy-third downfall is complete. At that time, the Blessed One was in Rājagṛha (རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་, Rājagṛha, राजगृह, Royal City, present-day Rajgir in Bihar). The plump joyful woman taught the royal caste to sing, and the Brahmins did not believe and ridiculed, so they established precepts. Furthermore, if a bhikṣuṇī sings, she commits a downfall. The difference in downfall is the same as before. There is no fault in saying "give comfort" when reading the Dharma. The one hundred and seventy-fourth downfall is complete. At that time, the Blessed One was in Rājagṛha (རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཁབ་, Rājagṛha, राजगृह, Royal City, present-day Rajgir in Bihar). The plump joyful woman taught the royal caste to play various musical instruments and sing, and the Brahmins did not believe, so they established precepts. Furthermore, if a bhikṣuṇī plays a musical instrument, she commits a downfall. The difference in downfall is the same as before. The one hundred and seventy-fifth downfall is complete. At that time, the Blessed One was in Śrāvastī (མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་, Śrāvastī, श्रावस्ती, City of Hearers, present-day Sahet-Mahet in Uttar Pradesh). The bhikṣuṇī Topknot Joyful Woman and five others went for alms in the morning. She arranged to meet a man in the summer house. Later, that man came to the summer house that night, and he was uncomfortable there. The Topknot Joyful Woman said, "It is not comfortable here."

"Pana Re wants my house," she said. The nun named Tsug Ga Mo said, "If you carry me on your back, I will agree." And he carried her on his back. Then Tsug Ga Mo thought, "Now, being a nun and doing good deeds is only possible because of this precept. Without precepts, everyone would despise me." Thinking this, she shouted, "Now I am being robbed by thieves!" The man became angry, beat her severely, and left. Then the nuns asked what wrong she had done, and she explained in detail what had happened. Therefore, this precept was established: If a nun goes alone to an outside place, she commits a downfall. If a nun goes alone outside, whether to a small place or another place, she commits a downfall. If she goes alone to the top of a multi-storied building, there is no offense. The one hundred and seventy-sixth downfall is complete. At that time, the Buddha was in Shravasti. Twelve women were holding Ushira incense, combing their hair, and making themselves beautiful. The nuns asked, "Why are they doing this? It is to arouse desire in others." Therefore, this precept was established: If a nun holds Ushira incense, she commits a downfall. If a nun holds Ushira incense, she commits a downfall. Ushira is made from the roots of Kusa grass. The one hundred and seventy-seventh downfall is complete. At that time, the Buddha was in Shravasti. The twelve women did not give Ushira incense to others, but held other incense themselves. Therefore, this precept was established: If a nun holds incense, she commits a downfall. The characteristics of this downfall are the same as the previous one, so it is not explained again. The one hundred and seventy-eighth downfall is complete. At that time, the Buddha was in Shravasti. The twelve women did not receive the previous incense and thought, "There should be no offense in holding a comb made of bamboo root, right?" So they held it. Therefore, this precept was established: If a nun holds a comb made of bamboo root, she commits a downfall. The characteristics of this downfall are the same as the previous one. A comb made of bamboo root refers to a comb made from the roots of bamboo. The one hundred and seventy-ninth downfall is complete. At that time, a woman named Peng Ga Mo thought, "If I make other decorations, I cannot use the decorations of the Dharma."
