feeding and playing, and so on. If a bhikṣuṇī bathes or wipes or dresses or feeds another's young son, she will commit a downfall in all cases. There is no offense for relatives who come. The one hundred and fortieth downfall is complete. In summary: One should hold a bathing cloth, one should wash the Dharma garment, exchange and replace, give the Dharma garment to a renunciate, cover stains and the Saṃgha's garment, help the poor, expel criminals, and distribute the Dharma garment. When the Teacher was in Śrāvastī, the stout woman, in the river Aciravatī, while bathing with her family women, showed off to them, saying, "Look, my hair is curled to one side and looks like a willow." Other bhikṣuṇīs ridiculed her, so the Buddha ordained: "From now on, when bathing, wear a bathing cloth and bathe." Furthermore, any bhikṣuṇī who does not wear a bathing cloth commits a downfall. If a bhikṣuṇī bathes without a bathing cloth, whether in a river or a pond, the first time she enters the water, it is a minor offense until she reaches her navel; if she passes her navel, she commits a downfall. If she bathes with water drawn from a bucket, it is also a minor offense to pour water from her head until she reaches her navel; if she draws water from above her navel, she will commit a downfall. If she bathes alone in a secluded room, there is no offense even if she does not have a bathing cloth. The one hundred and forty-first downfall is complete. When the Teacher was in Śrāvastī, the stout woman took a lower garment stained with blood and went to the laundryman, saying, "Good sir, please wash this for me." The man said, "Put it in the place for washing old clothes." The stout woman did so. Afterwards, when the laundryman prepared to wash the clothes, he saw that the stout woman's lower garment was stained with blood and thought, "This will defile all my clothes, making them unclean, how terrible!" He also became angry, so the Buddha ordained: "If any bhikṣuṇī entrusts the washing of her Dharma garment to a laundryman, she commits a downfall." If a bhikṣuṇī entrusts the washing of old clothes to a laundryman, she will commit a downfall in all cases. The one hundred and forty-second downfall is complete. When the Teacher was in Śrāvastī

The Blessed One was in a certain place. Swomgamo (Tibetan: སྦོམ་དགའ་མོ་) is the same as what was said at the time of abandonment. Furthermore, if a bhikkhuni does not give away her robes twice a month, she commits a downfall. Because it does not appear in the chapter on discipline, it is similar to the remainder and is not included in the number of downfalls. The Blessed One was in Shravasti. A householder had a pair of siblings. After the householder passed away, the pair of siblings and their mother went forth together. The brother's name was Loye (Desire), and the sister's name was Loyema (Mother of Desire). Later, Loye wore a good patchwork robe and came to the bhikkhunis' summer retreat. Loyema took the patchwork robe and gave Loye an old one. Loye washed the old robe well, dyed it, made it well, and went to the summer retreat. Loyema saw it and said, "Give me back my robe, and I will give you mine." Loye agreed. The other bhikkhunis said to Loyema, "You are like a goddess of the Pure Abodes, always wearing beautiful new clothes. Where did you get them?" She explained in detail. Those bhikkhunis rebuked her for this. Furthermore, if a bhikkhuni exchanges clothes with the leader of the sangha, she commits a downfall. The so-called bhikkhuni is like Loyema. The so-called leader of the sangha is a bhikkhu. The so-called exchange refers to any of the three robes; if they are exchanged, a downfall is committed. The one hundred and forty-third downfall is complete. The Blessed One was in Rajagriha. During the time of the Dragon Mountain (Tibetan: ཀླུ་རི་བོ།) and the celebration of the constellation festival, some dancers came from the south. In order to dance in the manner of the Group of Six, they went to Swomgamo. Disrespecting the robes, Swomgamo charged a high price. After that, those dancers divided the robes and danced in the manner of the Group of Six. The Group of Six became angry and beat Swomgamo and the other twelve groups. The Blessed One admonished, "If a bhikkhuni sells a renunciate's robe to a householder, she commits a downfall." Furthermore, if a bhikkhuni gives a renunciate's robe to a householde
