Also. The so-called tree cotton is of five kinds, namely: grass kasha, tree marga, tree shoma, cotton, and willow cotton. Spreading out refers to oneself. Having someone spread out refers to others. After gathering, it means that after spreading and gathering, one should confess the fallen sins. Fallen sins refer to as before. So, what are the fallen sins? If a Bhikshuni spreads out or has someone spread out tree cotton on the Sangha's bed or small bed, it is all a fallen sin. In front of whom one confesses, that person should also ask whether the spread-out item has been gathered. If one confesses without asking, both will have faults, and the fallen sin will not be purified by confession, and one should confess again. The seventieth fallen sin is completed. The Teacher was residing in Shravasti. At that time, the Bhikshunis made the cushions long and then cut them short, and made them short and then lengthened them again. Because of many affairs, they hindered virtuous deeds and were blamed in many ways. Until the explanation of the training place for taming, it is as before. When a Bhikshuni makes a cushion, she should make it according to the size. The size of the cushion is: the length is one cubit of the Sugata, and the width is half a cubit plus one cubit. If the length is not enough, it can be lengthened by one cubit, and if it exceeds this limit, it should be cut off and confessed as a fallen sin. Cushion refers to a mat. The length is one cubit of the Sugata, which is three standard cubits. The width is half a cubit plus one cubit, which is two standard cubits plus six fingers. Lengthening by one cubit if the length is not enough means if the body is tall and not enough. Exceeding this limit means exceeding that size. Cutting off means cutting off the excess part and confessing the fallen sin. Fallen sin refers to as before. So, what is the fallen sin? If a Bhikshuni's cushion is more than five and a half cubits long and more than two cubits and six fingers wide, it is all a fallen sin. In front of whom one confesses, that person should also ask whether the excess part has been cut off. If one does not ask, both will have faults. The fallen sin is not purified by confession, and one should confess again. The seventy-first fallen sin is completed. The origin is in Shravasti. At that time, a Bhikshuni had scabies, and went begging for alms without covering the scabies, which caused bees to gather, and

I and the Brahmins ridiculed the large assembly of noble nuns. The Bhikshunis reported to the Teacher and explained the place of learning the Vinaya. Bhikshunis, if you are to sew a patch, do it according to the measure. The measure for sewing a patch is as follows: the length is four spans of the Sugata, and the width is one and a half spans. If it exceeds this measure, it is a Patayantika offense after cutting it off. Sewing a patch is a sick garment. Four spans of the Sugata in length is six cubits. One and a half spans in width is three cubits. What is a Patayantika offense? If a Bhikshuni sews a patch that exceeds six cubits in length and three cubits in width, it is entirely a Patayantika offense. The one before whom the confession is made should ask whether the remaining material has been cut off. If confession is made without asking, both are at fault. The Patayantika offense is not confessed, so it must be confessed again. The seventy-second Patayantika offense is complete. The Blessed One was dwelling in Shravasti. At that time, Nanda liked to make and wear robes that exceeded the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe, so it was not allowed, and a training was prescribed for the Bhikshunis. Coarse Delightful Nun thought that this training was not prescribed for the Bhikshunis, so she made and wore robes that exceeded the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe. The Bhikshunis who desired little ridiculed her, and after reporting to the Teacher, Coarse Delightful Nun was scolded in various ways, and a place for learning the Vinaya was prescribed. Furthermore, if a Bhikshuni makes a robe that conforms to the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe, or makes one that exceeds the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe, it is a Patayantika offense. The measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe is as follows: the length is ten spans of the Sugata, and the width is six spans. This is the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe. Ten spans of the Sugata is fifteen cubits, and six spans is nine cubits. The rest are just words. The meaning of Patayantika is the same as before. What is a Patayantika offense? If a Bhikshuni makes a robe that conforms to the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe, or makes one that exceeds the measure of the Sugata's Dharma robe, it will entirely be a Patayantika offense. A beginner, a madman, one who is mentally disturbed, and one who is afflicted by illness do not incur a Patayantika offense.
