That too. Abandoning is expelling. If due to sorrow and vexation it is done by messengers etc., it is a misdeed. Having done the action, again causing it to be done, that is, causing sorrow and vexation to be done by the action. Some say that if the action causes sorrow and vexation, it means that by doing the action, one abandons the previously done action. Others explain that it is prevented by the action itself. Others explain that if it is said that it was not done well. These three explanations are wrong, because the Blessed One himself has explained the phrase "if the action causes sorrow and vexation," so it is meaningless to add one's own explanation to explain the meaning of the sutra. Regarding recitation, if monks and nuns recite to each other, it is a misdeed. If one goes beyond the manner of recitation, in order to introduce others, both reciting the Dharma and doing the recitation will become disrespectful, and because of how one recites, one will develop the idea that the Dharma is meaningless, therefore these things are said. This is what the commentators say. Speaking of the place of defeat, or the monk has committed these offenses, because there is no connection in that way, speaking of all the defeats or the remaining offenses will become an offense of downfall, therefore, when speaking generally, because the name is not specified, it will become the offense of downfall itself, if one thinks like that, then the topic is said to be speaking of the offenses committed by the monk, and after specifying the offense, if the monk says, similarly, the monk and nun who destroy the family should be known to be practicing evil. Similarly, this monk and this nun are those whose seeds are destroyed, those who are of the nature of non-arising, etc., because this monk himself is repeatedly taken as the basis, therefore, if it is said that the monk has done it, speaking in this way will become an offense of downfall, therefore, in order to understand such differences, speaking of the five offenses of downfall will become a misdeed, because he relies on the aspect of not being allowed to proclaim the conduct of those who have taken full ordination to those who have not taken full ordination.

Therefore, as the commentary says, the matter of the most supreme precepts should not be spoken in the presence of inferior ones. It is said that one should not proclaim practices everywhere, therefore, one should understand this reason. Here, in order to avoid the secrets of the Sangha being compromised, it is determined that this should not be done. In the context of speaking truthfully about superior human qualities, even if it is true, it is forbidden because there is no trust, etc., for beings who should not be tamed, so there is fault. Wherever there is no possibility of faults such as distrust, there is no downfall if one speaks truthfully to one who has not taken full ordination, just as seeing the truth from some people, there is no downfall if one speaks to some perfect ones, as it is said. In order to avoid disrespect, there is no downfall in this, because the person who does this does not possess superior human qualities. Illusion is not accomplished only by mantras and medicines, but by the reasoning called "defilement," one can walk in the sky. Or by holding or taking the medicine that suppresses the sky, one can also walk in the sky. All speech is also to manifest signs, words, mantras, and so on. Because in an instant, through ignorance, one can know the minds of others. This relies on the cause of habit, so it enters into it, but here there are no superior human qualities such as divine eyes and ears, and so on. Thus, some sinful people, from the defilements of beginningless time, their minds are obscured by the great darkness of ignorance, their minds become impure, and they are diminished by the lack of their own qualities, as well as the loss of others' minds and mental factors, and not understanding the differences in others' wisdom, and those who have not seen the true ultimate truth, make false accusations and slander against the monks. For a person who sees the truth, this fault does not exist. Because they have abandoned the wrong view and doubts about the realm of superior human qualities, and there exists a person who corresponds to it, therefore, for a person who sees the truth, if one speaks of superior human qualities to one who has not taken full ordination, the Blessed One thinks that it will be a downfall.
