The venerable ones, relying on the son of the protector, the resident attendant, the monks who practice together, having taken medicine or not, in the morning or within seven days, mixed or not obvious, thus eating at the right time or not, and taking and eating with their own hands, therefore the medicine should be blessed and stored within seven days. It is not allowed to hold it beyond this period, and when the monks heard the accusation of such behavior, they reported, "There is no fault in blaming with the precepts." And they scolded, "Those who do not know satisfaction are difficult to heal, difficult to fill." Therefore, the medicine should be taken within seven days. If it is stored beyond this period, it becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya, this is the established training. The so-called "sick" means discomfort. The so-called "monk" means one who has entered this Dharma. The so-called "doing beneficial things" means corresponding to this. The so-called "said as medicine" means proclaiming. The so-called "ghee, sesame, honey and brown sugar" means real things. The so-called "wanting" means if you want. The so-called "within seven days" means within seven days. The so-called "bless yourself" means I (bless). The so-called "should be stored for eating" means taking and eating by yourself. The so-called "storing beyond this period" means beyond this period. The so-called "Nissaggiya Pacittiya" means abandoning the object and confessing the offense. The offense is: if a monk gets medicine on the first day, he should bless it within seven days, or send it to others, or give it away. If he does not do so, it becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya when the sun rises on the morning of the eighth day. The method of blessing the seven-day medicine is: after washing your hands, take the medicine, and then sit in front of the Brahmacharis and say, "Please listen, I, named so-and-so, bless this usable medicine for me and the Brahmacharis to use together, within seven days." Say this two or three times. How to eat it? Like one day, that is, I ate it today, and I will eat the rest, say this in front of the Brahmacharis for seven days. If there is still medicine left that has not been eaten, it should be placed in the monastery or the Sangha's...

It should also be given away. If a medicine that should be abandoned is not abandoned, not separated, or the downfall is not confessed, and another is obtained, then due to the previous cause, all that is obtained later becomes a downfall of abandonment. Even if seven days have passed, there are also cases where it does not become abandonment, that is, medicine that should not be taught to a monk, even if seven days have passed, it does not become a downfall of abandonment. A monk who is afflicted by illness, is insane, or has lost his mind, from the time he regains his mind, seven days should be counted. Morning medicine should be taken in the morning, and afternoon medicine should be taken in the afternoon. Medicine within seven days should also be taken within seven days. Medicine on the first day should also be taken on the first day. If it is held beyond the deadline, it should be known that everything becomes a downfall of abandonment. The training place of the thirty abandonments is completed. The basis for knowingly telling a lie is that the Blessed One was residing in Rajagriha (mid-6th century BC). At that time, the Brahmins and householders who had faith in the venerable Rahula asked, "Where does the Blessed One reside?" He replied, "The Blessed One resides in the Light Garden, or on Vulture Peak Mountain." If he was residing in the cave under the Pippala tree, he would say that he was residing in the Great Sangha Cave. In this way, the householders searched but could not find him. They said to Rahula, "Did you intentionally do this to obstruct us?" After being questioned like this, and hearing those slanders, he said, "Not eating iron food is the best, it is not like this." Although he was rebuked, no precepts were established. Later, when the Blessed One was residing in Shravasti, there was a Shakya son, a monk named Mevajikye, residing in Shravasti. He was very knowledgeable in external doctrines and diligent in debating with others. At that time, a Brahmin's son came from the south, seeking mantras, and went to Shravasti. After debating slightly with the Brahmins who had been residing there, the Brahmins deceived the Shakya monk Mevajikye, saying, "Refute him with treatises." So the two of them made an appointment to debate in a certain garden. The Brahmin labeled his name with 'my sect' and 'other sects'.
