The so-called "is from elsewhere" means obtained from elsewhere. The so-called "from the end of summer to half a month" means taken from the Vinaya to half a month. The meaning of "a month before spring for a Bhikshu" is to search for large cloths before that. The so-called "from the end of summer to half a month" means beyond that limit. The so-called "abandoning" means abandoning the object and confessing the downfall. Those who entered the Vinaya earlier and those who entered the Vinaya later in the summer, if they hold it for a long time, it will become abandoning. Those who entered the Vinaya later, if they seek fear or hold it for too long, it will also become a downfall of abandoning. The large summer cloth, through messages, letters, and gestures, passed from one person to another, if held for a long time, will become a misdeed. For householders, madmen, those with disturbed minds, those afflicted by illness, the dumb, the deaf, the foolish, and beings in other states, if they seek it before that, or obtain it from them and hold it for a long time, it will also become a misdeed. In general, the origin of the offering dedicated to a person is that the Blessed One was staying in Shravasti. In Shravasti, a mendicant preached the Dharma to a householder, causing him to have faith. The householder offered the mendicant general food and offered a piece of cloth as an offering, and the householder also promised. The mendicant invited the Sangha and requested the Sangha with a message, and the one who delights in closeness also requested. The next morning, he went to that householder's place and said, "You offered the cloth to the Sangha in general, there is merit of offering, but there is no merit of using. Why? Because the food offered to the Sangha, even every bit of residue, is suitable for making clothes. Even if the cloth is only suitable for making a wick, it should be offered." So you also have no merit of using it, you should offer it together to someone who has renounced from the Shakya clan, possesses the three pitakas, and speaks the Dharma." The householder said, "Then please, venerable one, accept it. If you do so, who will take responsibility?" If it is blamed as being bad, it should be shown to the Sangha in order, and then give it to me, so that the householder will also make everyone rejoice.

Then, finally, it was given to the attendant Hsi. After that, the attendant Hsi did not give it to the housekeeper either. Then, the almsman accused the householder, saying, "You make the dragon call elsewhere, and the rain fall elsewhere." The householder explained the reason in detail. Other monks accused the almsman, and the almsman said, "Neither I nor the householder is at fault, it is the attendant Hsi's fault." The monks began to slander, and (this matter) was reported to (the Buddha's) ears. The Buddha scolded the attendant Hsi, saying, "You wicked man!" Then (the Buddha) said, "Difficult to cure, difficult to satisfy, not knowing satisfaction, is not the conduct of a Shramana." After scolding in various ways, it was stipulated that anything that is universally offered, if taken as one's own, is not allowed. Bhikshu refers to the attendant Hsi, as well as others who have entered this Dharma. Knowing refers to knowing oneself or being informed by others. Sangha refers to the Buddha's Shravaka disciples. Acquisition has two types: acquisition of clothing and acquisition of food. Here it refers to the acquisition of clothing. To dedicate something to oneself means to dedicate it for one's own sake. Nishrayika-pattyantika means that after abandoning the object, one should confess the offense. The offense is that dedicating the gains of one person to oneself, or one, two, three, or more people, is an offense at the time of dedication. If obtained, it becomes an offense of abandonment. If a monk dedicates the gains of one person to two or more other people, it is an offense at the time of giving. If one dedicates the gains of one person to the Sangha, it is an offense at the time of giving. If obtained, it is also an offense. Similarly, if the utensils of a monastery, the utensils for decorating a monastery, and the wheels of a stupa are placed in order, and if they are turned upside down, it is an offense. If the gains of the Sangha are taken as one's own, there are also cases where it is not an offense, such as messengers and letters, gestures, transmission from one to another, and reasons and types that are not suitable. These have no offense, but are only offenses. The origin of placing medicine is that the Blessed One was residing in the Kalanda Bamboo Grove in the Bright Garden of Rajagriha. At that time
