The day after that is the time for giving clothes. The rest are not the time. When staying permanently or sewing something in a place, the time for receiving clothes is from the first day of the last month of autumn to the last day of the last month of spring. The rest are not the time. If it is held beyond that time, it is called "excessive." "Abandoning" means abandoning things and confessing the fall. At the end of summer, if the time for distributing or arranging the gains of summer has passed, it will become a fall of complete abandonment. If the donor personally distributes the offerings that were previously offered, there is no fall even if the time has passed. There are also cases where there is no fault even if the time for giving the entrusted clothes has passed, that is, if the monk becomes mad or mentally disturbed as soon as he gets the clothes, or if the material and type of the clothes are not suitable, or if the time has passed within ten days. The origin of allowing the monastery to be without monastic robes is that the Blessed One was residing in Shravasti. At that time, a faithful householder lived in the village of Ribrag, and he built a beautiful temple in the place of the monastery, invited many monks, prepared various utensils, and the monks also went to other places. Some monks from other places came to that temple. They also wandered in other places, prostrated to the Buddha, and then the donor said: This temple was not built by me for my father, nor was it built for my mother, but for you venerable ones, please do not leave, practice here. In order to protect his mind, those monks also stayed there. There were no other temples near that place, so all the non-Buddhists in that place also made offerings in that temple, so the monks received a lot of offerings. In the last month of autumn, some cunning thieves discussed: One of them who knew the situation of the monks said, those who cross a hundred thresholds every day and fill their stomachs have nothing in their mouths. Someone who knew the situation even better said that they received a lot of offerings. In order to investigate whether they were there, two people entered the temple, prostrated, circled, and acted like believers.

Another monk was not there, an old man was living there, and he was asked, "Is this a monastery, a place of wealth or a place of busyness?" The monk did not understand and said, "The monastery is a place of wealth." The old man said, "This is not a place of busyness, but a place that possesses resources and wealth, and all the bundles of clothes are displayed for this reason." Those thieves also carefully observed and matched the time with the time of nightfall. At that time, when the monks were together reciting scriptures and chanting at night, those cunning people knocked on the door as if they were listening to the Dharma, and those cunning people fell down as if they were sick, and robbed all the monks' clothes and belongings. After that, these monks thought, "We should treat the patrons like milking cows." So they went naked to the place of hearing the Dharma. At that time, the monks who were sitting in the place of hearing the Dharma gave them robes and thirteen items of resources, and reported the matter, saying, "From now on, in places of fear and doubt, any one of the three Dharma robes can only be placed in the village at a layman's house for up to six days." And a rule was made. The monks were afraid of losing their Dharma robes, so they slept by the walls at night. When laymen and women were urinating naked at night, they met them and asked, "Why are you sleeping here?" They replied, "For the Dharma robes." So they were ridiculed, saying, "Are you chasing after the Dharma robes, are you trying to steal them?" And they reported the matter. After that, it was stipulated that within six days, the monks could put their Dharma robes in the village, and there would be no fault even if they lived outside the boundary. But the Six Groups of monks deliberately exceeded seven days. They asked, "Is it true to do this?" They replied, "No." So it was stipulated that it would not be allowed to exceed seven days in the future, and precepts were established. Monk refers to the Six Groups of monks, and also refers to others who have entered this Dharma. Many refers to two or more. Monastery refers to a place five hundred bows away from the village, which is one yojana. Place refers to the monastery. The end of summer refers to entering the later summer. Accompanied by doubt and fear refers to being afraid of thieves, beasts and insects. The three Dharma robes refers to the sanghati
