The admonition says: Because they were unable to repay, they repeatedly threatened with violence and forced weaving. So, after the weaver finished weaving, he said, "Venerable one, we offer the wine money to you, venerable one." If they say this, they admonish, "Miser, what are you holding that is mine? What harm is there in drinking poison?" That householder also became disbelieving and complained, "Those Shakyaputra ascetics admonish with religion and force weaving by the power of the king and ministers." After the matter was reported and scolded, Nanda reported, "This is not the behavior of ascetics." He scolded in various ways and forbade weaving for non-relatives. Again, the bhikkhu named Nanda, and others are similar to this. "The thread I begged for" refers to how much faith there is. Some give half a liang, some give two liang, some give one shuttle, and some give half a shuttle. "Non-relative" is the same as above. "Weaver" refers to the person who weaves clothes. "Forced weaving" refers to entrusting the weaving of wool, Shana bark, Dugula, kapok, Kotam grass, silk, or any of these. "Completed" means to have it in hand. "Nissaggiya Pacittiya" means to abandon the object and confess the offense. When begging for thread and wool from non-relatives, one commits a minor offense. Entrusting weaving to non-relatives results in a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. If one begs for thread from a non-relative and weaves it oneself, one commits a minor offense. There is no offense in begging for thread from a relative and entrusting weaving to a relative. Giving wages is also the same. Verbal messages, letters, gestures, and entrusting from one to another, as well as entrusting for others, all result in minor offenses. Entrusting weaving to a madman, a mentally disturbed person, a person afflicted with disease, a fool, a deaf person, a mute person, or a non-human being, all result in minor offenses. Entrusting the weaving of unqualified raw materials and yarn, as well as both unqualified or mixed, all result in minor offenses. The origin of the second weaving is: The Blessed One was dwelling in Shravasti. At that time, a couple was drifting apart and lazy.

Because of this, all the property was scattered and diminished. The couple often beat the maid. When Hyen-ga saw this, he taught them the Dharma and imposed a penalty. Even after the penalty, they still beat the maid. The maid said to the wife, "We are not the same as before, if we have seen the truth, why do you beat us?" He said, "That is true." Then he gave the maid a piece of clothing. The master and mistress thought, "We can see the truth and be free from the stain of sin, all because of the kindness of the venerable Hyen-ga, we should give him a piece of clothing." The maid heard their previous discussion and thought, "I am no longer beaten as before, and I have also received clothing, which is also due to the kindness of Hyen-ga. I cannot do any other repayment, I can only say some nice words." She thought, "I will tell Hyen-ga about this." So she came to Hyen-ga and said, "Venerable one, may you be happy!" Hyen-ga did not believe it, and if he scolded again, the venerable one should not say too much, and should go to the loom. Then he met with the weaver and ordered, "This clothing is being woven for me, so weave it well and weave it wide." Then, he took the alms bowl that he had begged from the bhikkhuni Fredanma, filled it with things, and gave it to the weaver as wages. Then, the weaver took the best thread, and took it once each from the wife and husband separately, and added it in. Later, when the two of them were gathered together, he took it again. The master saw it and thought, "What if I take away something of value?" He saw a good piece of clothing and thought, "This clothing cannot be donated, donate something else." When the master and mistress discussed this, the weaver heard it and told Hyen-ga. Hyen-ga and the weaver devised a plan together. When Hyen-ga went to the master's house to teach the Dharma, the weaver came with felt and first offered it to the Sangha. Hyen-ga took the verses of offering beforehand and took the felt casually. Later, when the weaver asked the master for wages, the master said, "You have already made me lose my clothing, let alone giving you wages?" So he did not give it. When the weaver asked Hyen-ga for wages, Hyen-ga said, "You should get it from the master." Even though he asked many times, the master did not give it.
