Possessing such qualities, which other beings do not possess, therefore, I prostrate to the lord of beings! Thus it is said. One who possesses such qualities, whose fame is perfect, like a treasure of jewels, possessing many retinues, transcending the ocean of suffering, I prostrate and praise the nature of qualities, and then begin to compose the praise of individual liberation. To prostrate is to prostrate with body, speech, and mind. What is the intention of prostrating in this way? It is said that by showing power to the lama, there will be no obstacles or hindrances, and what is undertaken will be accomplished in the end. Some teachers say that from "the banner of beauty" to "touching the feet with the jewel of the crown of Brahma and Indra" is praising the Bhagavan by means of accomplishing the perfection of the benefit of others. From "crossing the far shore of the ocean of suffering" to "prostrating to the lord of beings" is praising the perfection of one's own benefit. From "the precepts of the all-knowing" to "revealing in the midst of the assembly of noble ones" is praising the individual liberation and vowing to teach it. Therefore, after praising and prostrating to the all-knowing one who perfects the benefit of oneself and others, one should praise and teach the individual liberation. How does one praise the words of the precepts of individual liberation? It is called "jewel," which in Indian language is called "ratna" (梵文:रत्न,梵文罗马转写:ratna,字面意思:jewel). Ratna means jewel, like opening a vessel of jewels or a treasury of jewels and showing it to others. For example, opening and showing it in front of someone who is skilled in jewels or knows their value and has seen them before. If you show it to someone who has never seen jewels or does not know them, even if you look at it repeatedly, you will not be able to distinguish between good and bad, just like it is useless. Similarly, the jewel of Dharma should also be revealed and shown to those noble beings who enter and practice this discipline. There is no need to show it to all those who do not enter, so it should be revealed in the midst of the assembly of noble ones. Thus it is said, which is praising the precepts of individual liberation and vowing to do so. The all-knowing one is the same as before. That

Because the ground is taught, the precepts of discipline are the words of learning. The Jewel is the word of learning, because it is precious and supreme, therefore it is the Jewel. Like a vessel, because it is the basis or place for distinguishing and things, the Pratimoksha is called a vessel. The above is combined with the praise of the Buddha. The following is combined with the praise of the Dharma, saying "The Buddha's discipline is like the ocean," and so on. Among them, Buddha refers to awakening from the sleep of ignorance, and for the object to be known, it blooms like a lotus flower. Or, in the Indian language, the word "རྒྱས་ (rgyas)" has the meaning of increasing, because all obscurations are purified, and for the object to be known, the wisdom like an eye becomes bright and increases, so it is also called increasing. The word "ཀྱི་ (kyi)" is a word of distinction, meaning that it is not the desires of non-Buddhists, etc., but the Buddha's discipline is like the ocean. Discipline refers to what is specifically taught from the Sutras and Mother Tantras. Or, from the perspective of virtue, discipline is mentioned, because it removes and subdues all afflictions, so it is discipline. Or, because it becomes the antidote to desire, hatred, and ignorance, it is discipline. So, how many chapters are there in such a discipline? Because it is shown to be difficult to measure and estimate, it is likened to the ocean. Being likened to the ocean is shown from the perspective of depth and breadth. Or, just as jewels arise from the ocean, from the basis of discipline, the fruit of virtue can arise as desired, so it is said to be like the ocean. Saying "not all" is explained below, combined with "without bottom and other shore, it is the essence of place and heart." Without bottom and other shore, just as the ocean is difficult to measure in depth and has no other shore, discipline is also difficult to measure. Without the other shore, it is because one cannot say and see "this is the other shore, this is this shore," and discipline is also immeasurable because one cannot determine "this is the beginning edge, this is the final edge." Or, the virtues of discipline are so measured and estimated.
