Not given. What is called belonging to the category of stealing means that whatever is not given belongs to the category of stealing. Taking means to take. How much is taken without being given means five mashakas of place and time, or more than five. Among them, king means the king himself, or the granting of kingship by a woman, or the king, the royal family, the granting of kingship from the crown of the head, or the royal family, or the Brahmin, or the Vaishya caste, or the Shudra caste, all those who are granted kingship from the crown of the head are included. Minister means one who is close to the king, lives by giving advice, holds great power to handle politics, and whose heart is with the king and lives by it. After being caught means that the king has faith and does not have faith in two situations. If the king does not have faith, he will impose punishments such as binding, exile, and execution. If the king has faith, he will rebuke him, saying, 'Hey, you are a thief!' Among them, killing means separation from life. Binding means three kinds of binding: binding with iron chains, binding with wooden shackles, and binding with ropes. Exile means separation from the land. 'Hey, you are a thief!' means that because of stealing, he is rebuked as a thief with a charge. Child means doing evil deeds, but not seeing the sin in this life, so he is a child. Foolish means not being satisfied with the sin of the next life, so he is foolish. Stealing means words with scolding. It is also said 'so it is said', which means speaking. 'That also' means near pointing. Bhikshu means one who has the object of a bhikshu. What is the object of a bhikshu? It means one who has received full ordination. What is full ordination? It means completing the ordination through request and four karmas, and this person also promises not to slander or abandon. Parajika means the ultimate, lowest, and worst of the fallen, an irreparable sin that cannot be compared to anything. Once this sin is committed, this person is no longer a bhikshu, no longer a shramana, no longer a son of Shakya. He has lost the status of a bhikshu, wanders around, and is destroyed. Parajika means that he can no longer be ordained as a shramana. For example, the head of a palm tree.

Just as cutting something prevents it from turning green again, from growing, and from flourishing, if a bhikshu commits a transgression, he can no longer be considered a diligent practitioner; this is called defeat. The term "should not abide" refers to not abiding in the performance of posadha, or arising from the precepts, or two-matter karma, or four-matter karma, that is, the ordination karma of twelve people should not be included either. Therefore, it is said, "should not abide." Furthermore, the origin of establishing the training ground through not giving and taking is that the Buddha Bhagavan was residing in Shravasti. At that time, there were two very close bhikshus named Chandala and Cloud. Chandala had great merit and possessed Dharma robes and requisites. Cloud, however, did not have Dharma robes, etc. He was wearing tattered clothes, and the bhikshus advised him, "Even if you have small desires, you should not expose your body; wear some clothes." He said, "I have not found Dharma robes." The bhikshus said, "If your friend Chandala has extra Dharma robes, what is wrong with that? Ask him for them." So he went to Chandala's residence, thinking, 'I should take a suitable Dharma robe,' and shook the Dharma robe, and Chandala saw him. Chandala said, "If you take the Dharma robe with a thieving mind, you will become defeated." He became doubtful and reported it to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan taught, "Because it was shaking, there is no transgression. But from now on, a bhikshu should not develop trust in someone who is not trusted. If trust is developed, there will be past transgressions." For three kinds of friends, if it is a small friend, one should develop small trust in the small friend. The same applies to medium and deep friends. The origin was in Shravasti. There were two very close bhikshus named Invincible and Moon Protector. Moon Protector possessed Dharma robes, a begging bowl, and requisites. Invincible did not have Dharma robes, and his clothes were very tattered. The bhikshus advised Moon Protector, "Ask the bhikshu for a Dharma robe." Invincible asked Moon Protector for a begging bowl, but Moon Protector did not give it. So he said, "Ask for a Dharma robe." He said it several times,

If you don't give alms, what about the robes? Mipam thought, "I'll steal a robe," so he looked for an opportunity and waited. When Zla-ba-sbyed was doing the work of changing colors, Mipam said, "I'll help you change colors." Zla-ba-sbyed thought, "He must be preparing to steal something," so that night, Mipam took the robe from under his pillow and put it under his own pillow to sleep. The next morning, Mipam stole the robe from under Zla-ba-sbyed's pillow and ran away. When he looked at it in the morning, it turned out to be his own robe. He thought, "Have I committed a pārājika offense?" So he was doubtful and reported it. The Buddha said, "If you steal your own belongings with the intention of stealing, the offense will become very serious." The rule was established. The origin of the story is that when he was in Shravasti, there were two bhikshunis who came from the south and the east to listen to the Dharma. The robe of the southern bhikshuni fell off. The eastern bhikshuni said in the eastern language, "Aba sada." She didn't understand, so she picked up the robe and put it in her room. Later, the southern bhikshuni came to ask for the robe and said, "You stole the robe and will commit a pārājika offense." She was also doubtful and reported it. The Buddha said, "There is no offense in saying 'Aba sada,' but if it is left for a long time, it will become a lost item." So the training place was established. The origin of the story is that when he was in Shravasti, the venerable Maudgalyāyana said to Anāthapiṇḍada, "Take your children to the Jeta Grove Monastery to receive the Buddha's teachings." The children of the householder also went to the Jeta Grove. In the last month of autumn, the heretics stole the children on the road. Maudgalyāyana thought, "If I don't care about the children, the children will suffer from being separated from their parents, and the parents will suffer from being separated from their children. The unbelievers will find an opportunity, and the believers will change, and no one will come to the Jeta Grove in the future." So he used his magical powers to beat the drum and called the children back from all directions. After the incident, the group of six monks said that Maudgalyāyana had committed a pārājika offense and should be expelled, so they beat the gaṇḍī and reported it.
