Caused by... as well as bile, phlegm, and mixtures, and seasonal changes, etc. In these five ways, diseases torment, there is no fault. The nidana of unchaste conduct is the son of Yashodhara. The person is the venerable Sudinna. The fault is committed by the body. The affliction is desire. The sign is Parajika. Thus, the first Parajika, stating ten merits, and the distinction of the precepts undertaken, and the categories of names called bhikshu, and knowingly asking, and the nidana, and the person, and that there is no fault for the beginner, etc., have been mentioned here in the first precept, so in the other subsequent ones, as appropriate, apply them accordingly. The unforgettable words of the first Parajika. The nidana of taking what is not given is that the Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in the Bamboo Grove, the Kalandaka garden in Rajagriha (middle of the 6th century BC). At that time, formerly there was a potter monk named Dhanapala, who lived in a hut on the mountain of the Rajagriha monastery. The monk Dhanapala, in the early morning, went to Rajagriha for alms, after which the people of Rajagriha, cowherds, shepherds, and woodcutters, etc., saw that the hut of the monk Dhanapala was torn down, and all the grass and trees were taken away. Then, Dhanapala collected the grass and trees, and made the hut again, demolishing and taking it away two or three times, many times, Dhanapala thought, alas, it is unbearable! Alas, suffering! Although the hut is demolished and taken away like this, I am skilled in my father's craft and work, I must somehow make a strong workplace, thinking, taking clay from a place without creatures, making a small house, drying it and painting it, making one that is very bright red, I thought I had completed a very good small house, I thought I should tell the monks, so I boasted about the small house to the monks. Afterwards, the Blessed One traveled around with a large retinue of monks, and when the Blessed One saw the house of the monk Dhanapala, which was painted and very red in color, he said: Whose house is that? They replied: It is the monk Dhanapala's.
