It is also poison. Likewise, merit also increases, and one also possesses the virtue of taming oneself. After begging for alms, I returned to my mother's door, but my mother had gone to another village, so I did not receive any alms. Not seeing anyone, I quickly returned. A maid saw him and went to tell his mother, Ganava. The mother thought, "Does my son want to return to lay life?" So she followed after him and came to her son, saying, "Son, are you tired of being a renunciate? Are you attached? If you have doubts, then return to lay life. Why mention your father's wealth? Your mother's wealth, piles of gold and silver, the other shore cannot see its end, this shore cannot see its end. What this shore cannot see the end of, and that shore cannot see the end of, is your mother's wealth. Who is guarding all of this? Enjoy all desires, and also give alms." Good Giving replied, "I am not tired or attached to being a renunciate, I will return." The mother thought, "Now no matter what I do, it is useless," so she returned home and told her daughter-in-law, "Whenever you have your period, tell me." After instructing her, later at one time, the daughter-in-law was adorned with clothes, fragrance, and garlands, and was brought to her son, saying, "Son, if you do not return to lay life, then the lineage will be cut off. You can take back all the property, and you can also enjoy it in turns. No matter what excuse you use, please give this girl a little bit of the nature of a mature seed." Good Giving had not previously taken vows, and had not seen the suffering of the lower realms, so when he saw his wife's beautiful face, desire arose in his mind. He asked, "Am I allowed to do such a thing?" The mother said, "Just the act of planting a seed is completely allowed." Then Good Giving took off his Dharma robes, secretly took her away, and began to engage in impure conduct. Later, the reason for establishing the precepts was that when the Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in Rajagriha, at that time there was a monk living in a hut in the monastery. A female monkey was lured with food, and he engaged in impure conduct with her. Later, many monks came to the monastery's residence, and openly talked about many joyful things in the villages and monasteries.

After that, they settled down. That monkey also came to that monk and sat in front of him, approaching his lower body. That monk was very ashamed in front of many friends, and he drove it away again and again. The monkey scratched the monk's face, making unpleasant noises, and after walking away, the father and son watched and squatted. Then those monks said to him: The monastery monkey here is doing this to you, and you drove it away because you were ashamed of it. Didn't the Blessed One say to abandon such unreasonable Dharma? He said: The precepts set by the Blessed One are for humans, not for animals. The monks neither praised him nor blamed him, but reported it to the Blessed One in detail, and then they established the precepts. At that time, the Blessed One did not gather hundreds of thousands of monks, but was teaching the Dharma. The venerable Good Giving was also gathered in that assembly and sat down. The Blessed One taught the Dharma of liberation of mind and liberation of wisdom to the hearers, in order to be free from attachment, hatred, and ignorance, and the venerable Good Giving arose with doubt and regret, and was thinking seriously. Later, at another time, some monks with few dwellings went to the dwelling of Good Giving. In the past, Good Giving used to greet the monks who arrived suddenly and take their robes and staffs, etc. Now, if he sees monks arriving suddenly,

Endowed with good friend, is it true that you have done such an improper thing? The assembly marveled and requested. The Blessed One rebuked him, saying: This is not the work of a bhikshu, it is not appropriate, it is not permissible, it is not proper, it is not the work of a renunciate. You have placed an artificial vulva where it should not be, and inserted a penis, how shameful! It is not appropriate to do this to one who has become a woman. The Blessed One rebuked him in various ways. Therefore, monks, having seen ten benefits, we should establish a place for the shravakas to learn the Vinaya. That is, to cause the Sangha to train properly, to cause the Sangha to be virtuous, to cause the Sangha to abide in ease, to severely rebuke those who are disrespectful, to cause those who know shame to abide in ease, to cause those who are not faithful to become faithful, to cause those who are faithful to increase, to restrain the defilements of this life, to completely destroy the defilements of the next life, and to cause my pure conduct to abide for a long time, so that it may be widely proclaimed to gods, humans, and many beings. Again, the root words such as "what is a bhikshu" were spoken. Again, "what is a bhikshu" is of five kinds: a bhikshu in name, a self-proclaimed bhikshu, a begging bhikshu, a bhikshu free from defilements, and a bhikshu who has taken full ordination through a request and four karmas. Among these, a bhikshu in name is one who is named or designated as a bhikshu in name only, or is merely an empty title, or is merely a conventional term. A self-proclaimed bhikshu is one who, though not a bhikshu, claims "I am a bhikshu" and deceives the public. A begging bhikshu is one who seeks and begs only for temporary sustenance. A bhikshu free from defilements is an arhat who has abandoned defilements from the three realms. Apart from these four kinds of bhikshus, the bhikshu referred to here is one who has taken full ordination through a request and four karmas, and is without confusion or fault, therefore he is called a bhikshu. "Together with the bhikshu" refers to friends who are the same in Dharma and practice the same pure conduct. Common learning
