One should say "Completely pure offering" three times. Offering faith, by offering faith in this way, one will be in harmony with the Sangha. By offering complete purity, one's self will become a vessel for Uposatha. The so-called "ask" is to put it into the offering. The so-called "should say" is that the Bhikshu who has taken faith should state to the Sangha assembly at the Uposatha place, or even if he states to one Bhikshu, it is also a complete offering. Taking faith and complete purity is also for the sick and those who serve the sick, and those who are engaged in special virtuous things, or those who are engaged in reading the Pratimoksha Sutra and focusing on the meaning, or those who are tired from a long journey and unable to walk, or those who have been attacked by illness and have not recovered for a long time, etc., those who have the conditions should offer faith. It is not permissible to offer faith by pretending to do a little virtuous thing or pretending to be a little sick. Appointing a Bhikshu to receive faith should be someone who has been given the precepts, and who has not committed a fundamental offense, and who is not an unstable Bhikshu, and who is not insane, etc., one should not receive faith. A Bhikshu who receives faith, in his daily practice, at the time of faith, should not offer each other from outside the boundary to the inside, should not stay in the air and offer on the ground, should not pass the offering from one to another, and should not run and make offerings after receiving faith, and should not enter meditation and sleep. There are two kinds of boundaries: large and small. The large boundary is a Thangka and three and a half yojanas around above and below. The small boundary is from here to the mandala, which can accommodate the karma of forty Sanghas. From "Shakya Simha" to "Discipline is what I have said", in the nine ways, the ritual of offering has been explained, mentioning joining the palms together, etc., which is also for two reasons: to praise the Tathagata from the perspective of the householder's lineage and the merits of renunciation, and to worship and praise the Pratimoksha. Praising from the perspective of the householder's lineage is because the lineage is pure and the lineage is noble, so it is called Shakya. The so-called Lion is to praise from the perspective of the merits of renunciation, that is

Just as a lion with a full mane, going from any direction to any place, has no fear or apprehension, so too, the Tathagata, similar to a lion, possesses the four fearlessnesses, causing great fear in the multitude of non-Buddhists, hence it is said that the Tathagata is like a lion. Alternatively, the word Śākya means bravery, ability, or competence, etc. In the past, the sons of King Holy-born expelled two brothers named Sdu from Kapilavastu, and they also had great power, conquering and defeating countries and regions. We ourselves are also sons of a king, so the sage Kapila also divided the land with common property and gave it to them. Because they enjoyed the happiness of raising (families), they were known as being happy in all directions. In whatever direction, whether it be a king who relinquishes the throne, or a minister dissatisfied with the king, etc., all gather here, and King Holy-born himself said that these sons are very wealthy, capable, brave, competent, famous, and have come from such, therefore Śākya is praised from the perspective of the family. Offering to the Pratimoksha is also offering with praise, because it liberates from afflictions, so it is an offering of merit to the Pratimoksha. The so-called "recitation" refers to reciting or chanting the Pratimoksha twice a month. The so-called "joining palms" refers to prostrations of the body, etc., which are the distinctions of the three types of prostrations. The so-called "Vinaya" refers to being explained in detail in seven ways, or because it thoroughly tames the phenomena of desire, hatred, ignorance, etc., it is also called "Vinaya." The ritual of offering is complete. Listen to me

The so-called "to practice and combine without negligence," after hearing, is the great sage, and to act as said, which refers to acting without reversing. From "always extremely relying" to "like dust, this Pratimoksha," in between, it shows not to be attached to views. Among them, "Listen to me" means that I am the person who proclaims the Pratimoksha. What to listen to? Listen to the Pratimoksha. Therefore, do not let the senses be distracted, but be mindful and listen attentively, that is, listen to the proclamation of the Pratimoksha with respect. Among them, the two sentences "After hearing, is the great sage" and "Act as said" are to act without reversing. What to hear and how to act? Act as the great sage said. The great sage refers to the Tathagata. Great means growing with discipline, and surpassing the worldly heretics, Shravakas, and Pratyekabuddhas in terms of supernatural powers, etc., hence it is called great. It means to act without reversing as he said. "For small faults, be careful and respectful" means to practice without negligence. Faults refer to the collection of words that should not be spoken, that is, what is blamed by virtuous people. There are two kinds of faults, namely natural and prescribed faults. Among them, natural faults are more sinful and heavier than prescribed faults. Therefore, the word "small" here refers to prescribed faults. Therefore, for those who practice virtue, even small prescribed faults should not be despised, but should be guarded and protected with extreme caution. Then, what about the great faults such as natural faults? This shows that one should practice the training without negligence. The so-called "always extremely relying," this verse shows not to be attached to views. The so-called "always extremely relying" means that the mind is like a wild horse and is very difficult to tame.
