One, three, three. For the nine stages of afflictions, those who have abandoned up to six are called once-returners. Those who have abandoned all nine are called non-returners. Afflictions exhausted, attaining Nirvana. This verse refers to the desire, pride, and ignorance to be abandoned by the meditation of the form and formless realms. In the two realms, there are three each, six combined into one whole, divided into three: great, medium, and small. Each one is further divided into three, making nine stages of afflictions. Those who have abandoned all nine are Arhats. Therefore, among the eight types of individuals, four are actually spoken of, and four are those who engage in abandoning the stages of afflictions. Those who have abandoned entering the stream are stream-enterers. The three above are similar to this. Therefore, the order of the eight types of individuals has been explained here. During the time when the Blessed One, Shakyamuni Buddha, was alive, the places for learning were not established, and when the hundred thousand disciplines were not taught, the monks were very mindful of faults and dwelt near unwholesome dharmas, and even if they practiced a little virtue, they would be arrogant, thinking that they would attain liberation. In order to reverse such views and as a remedy, the Thus-Gone One, Shakyamuni Buddha, taught the one and a half verses beginning with "Do not commit any evil." Among them, the verse "Do not commit any evil" was taught as a remedy for being mindful of faults. Not being satisfied with a little virtue and not committing evil, that is, not committing the ten unwholesome actions such as killing, the five types of downfall, and also in the world, not adorning oneself with worldly customs, and not doing all unreasonable actions. "Accomplished in wisdom" means that according to the words of the Blessed One, it is permitted to ordain and receive the vows of a monk, and in this way, one should properly receive the vows of a monk. Or, "wise" refers to those who possess wisdom. "Accomplishment" refers to the meaning of accomplishing virtuous deeds, therefore, not speaking the four verbal misdeeds, that is, not speaking lies, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter, and diligently engaging in higher wisdom. One must also completely subdue one's own mind.

La. That which is called is: The three things that the mind should not do are: not thinking of attachment, not thinking of evil thoughts, and not looking at things wrongly. In addition, it is entering into the aggregate of samadhi and the supreme samadhi. This is called the Buddha's teaching, which was proclaimed by Shakyamuni in order to make people believe. Therefore, this is the antidote to prevent excessive attention to faults. Faults are the method of abandonment, that is: the discipline of the body is good. Having said this half-verse, the discipline of body, speech, and mind is also in accordance with the above. Or, if the faults of the body, the faults of speech, and the faults of the mind are guarded, evil will not increase. Therefore, one must guard. Therefore, if the discipline of the body is good, then what need is there to mention speech? The discipline of speech is also good. The discipline of the mind need not be mentioned, therefore, everything must be guarded. To guard everything well is to guard the three doors of body, speech, and mind in the three times. A fully guarded bhikshu is one who guards the precepts without regard to place, time, or person. Liberated from the three sufferings. What is called suffering is the three kinds, the eight kinds, and liberation from the ninety-eight kinds of afflictions of the three realms, and liberation from the prison of samsara. Therefore, this is proclaimed as a method of abandoning afflictions. Guarding speech and guarding with the mind, using one verse to show the method of not forgetting mindfulness. The guarding of speech is not doing the four kinds of evil deeds of speech. In addition, if one's own downfall is light or heavy, and is spoken of by a virtuous friend, and is pointed out, one should not quibble, not speak, and respectfully listen to the words of the virtuous friend. Guarding with the mind is that when repenting, one should not only speak with words, but also repent from the depths of one's heart. Or, after making a firm resolution, one should no longer do those three evil deeds of the mind. Do not do the non-virtue of the body. What is called is: There are three things that the body should not do, that is, not killing, not stealing, and not engaging in sexual misconduct. Or, do not do the actions of violence, harm, robbery, etc. of the body. Another way is:
