It is divided into two parts. In the dwelling place, the leaders of both sides announce to their respective subordinates, requesting forgiveness from each other, confessing sins, and resolving disputes through reconciliation. Disputes arising from actions are discussed from one hundred and one kinds of actions. If a dispute arises from the five kinds of offenses, then all previous disputes will be pacified, and this dispute will also be pacified. To pacify disputes for the sake of harmony and reconciliation of the Sangha, there is no need to do anything else. Therefore, for the four kinds of disputes, there are seven methods of pacification: presence, taking many measures, mindfulness, non-delusion, seeking self-nature, pulling grass, and promising, etc. These things can pacify disputes, so these seven methods of pacifying disputes are not included in the range from defeat to evil deeds. Pacifying disputes is a word that is not forgotten, it is just a name. From "life and answers, etc., I should know that they are completely pure" to "hold it as it is," it means that after complete purification, it will not be interrupted, and the work has been completed. Starting from the root cause and defeat, to the five kinds of offenses that have been explained, although they have been said before, because some people's minds are distracted, they are repeated and summarized again. The Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, this is the name given from merit, the same as the previous ones. Belonging to its sutra refers to the Pratimoksha Sutra in the Vinaya Pitaka. Brief refers to the collection of words and meanings. Exhausted in these refers to the brief teachings, and it should also be known that the detailed ones appear in the Vinaya Vibhanga and Miscellaneous Matters, etc. So, does the Dharma that should be practiced end here? No, it also says "arising from others," etc. Arising from others refers to the objects of the Vinaya and the Dharma, etc. The only consistent Dharma, Dharma refers to Nirvana, and what is consistent with it? That is, the Dharma that should be practiced that arises from the Sutra Pitaka and the Matrika Pitaka should also be learned, thus it is shown.

You, refers to those Shravakas who have entered the teachings and abide in Samsara. Subduing, refers to not arguing with each other and being harmonious. Harmony, refers to not having differences in views, livelihoods, precepts, and rituals, and being in agreement in pursuing the path to Nirvana and liberation. Joy, refers to being happy about the increase of virtuous dharmas and being happy about the manifestation of Samadhi. Non-contention, refers to not having fighting, debate, or mutual fault-finding and refutation. Constantly guarding the mind, refers to guarding the mind so as not to violate the minds of those who practice the same Brahma conduct. Mindfulness, refers to first contemplating what should and should not be done and keeping it in mind. Joy, refers to the meaning of rejoicing in practicing and keeping precepts. Diligence, refers to also learning and being diligent in the places mentioned above. From here onwards, regarding the Shravakas of the past Tathagatas, whether the Pratimoksha precepts were many or few, different or not, or how they subdued the Shravakas. At that time, were there no Pratimoksha precepts like the current ones? How did they subdue? If they did not have such Pratimoksha precepts, and did not explain or teach the method of subduing, then how were they liberated? To dispel such doubts, and from the beginning of the Bhadrakalpa, the Tathagatas observed that from the time of the current Shakyamuni Buddha's presence, and in the time of the past seven Buddhas, the Shravakas of the past Tathagatas also upheld the five Pratimoksha precepts, how did they subdue, how were they liberated? In the time of Shakyamuni Buddha, sentient beings had little merit, dull faculties, and weak wisdom, so what kind of training places did they intend to establish and teach? Therefore, they taught that patience is the supreme asceticism and so on. Among them, starting from "Patience is the supreme asceticism," a single verse explains that in the time of the Tathagata Vipashyin, pure beggars and most sentient beings believed in perverse asceticism, clinging to physical asceticism, so in order to reverse this view, as a remedy.
