Five, in this case, it should be combined with the actions of punishment such as intimidation. Furthermore, there are sixteen types of punitive actions: Brahmacharya, expulsion, not allowing entry, not appearing in sight, causing to seek its own nature, should be rebuked, should be degraded, should be abandoned, without partiality, should reveal faults, regret, doubt, causing extreme fear, accompanied by doubt, pulling out the double tassels, treating as a corpse. Having performed these sixteen actions, it becomes manifest, separating the occasion, discussing, remembering, admitting oneself, admitting by others, examining, not needing to examine, questioning, not needing to question, causing to admit, even if not causing to admit is also acceptable. Disputes are pacified in sixteen ways: according to the Dharma, the admonition of the Sangha, the teachings of the Victorious One, agreement, faction, admonishing the opposing side, not contradicting the subduing of opponents, not concealing the faults of the dispute, including what has occurred, subsequently including, allowing, not allowing purification, holding the vows of the opponent and the respondent, expounding the Sutras, being in accordance with the Vinaya, increasing the eye of the Dharma, pacifying according to the Dharma and the Vinaya. Not pacifying means not extinguishing. If one is unable, it should be transferred to the Sangha, and in this case, what needs to be done manifestly is to openly transfer it to the Sangha, and so on, in three ways. If even that is not possible, it should be entrusted to the chief. If even those are not able, it should be entrusted to the chief of chiefs. If even those are not able, it should be transferred back to the Sangha. Those who lead disputes from elsewhere and hand them over to the monks with elders and the Pratimoksha are gatekeepers. He should also say what has become of it. If even that is not possible, hand over the dispute to the one who conceals the dispute, and he should be capable of holding the Sutras and so on. If even those are not able, hand it over to him. He should first speak to and hand it over to the one who is the chief or famous elder. He should not take anything from those people. Nor should he give alms or anything else. From front to back.

It is in a state of being. If there is no fighting, neither side will be victorious. Say a brief word like, "One, please." If it can be pacified, it should be pacified well. In this way, it is truly subduing. If even the elder cannot do it, then entrust it to the concealer. Entrust it also to the Sangha. The Sangha should also have many lots taken to pacify it. Because of opposing in five ways, being harsh because of holding oneself as a respondent, being violent because of doing violence, being attached because of holding on tightly, and because of holding fourteen things that cause division, therefore causing division and doubt, even if it reaches the end of the elder, the union cannot be reversed. There are four ways to distribute lots: where there are many elders who do not speak according to the Dharma, it should be covered; for the one who reverses, it should not be covered; whispering in the ear, where one admonishes in the ear, saying, "Your Khenpo has taken a Dharma lot, you should also take one"; suppressing the majority, is the fourth of the Sangha. There are ten ways to distribute lots unlawfully: taking unlawfully, not conforming to the Vinaya, taking without gathering, suspecting even a slight fault and small difference, reversing the union without reaching the end of the elder, not uniting with the knowledgeable, not asking those who uphold the Vinaya, etc., wanting to divide the Sangha, wanting many monks to speak unlawfully, knowing that the Sangha will be divided, knowing that they will speak unlawfully. The ten reversals are according to the Dharma. By distributing lots, there are two kinds of lots: the Dharma lot has shape, color, and form. The non-Dharma lot is the reversed one. The Dharma lot is to take it in the right hand. The non-Dharma lot is the left hand. Then, to the one sitting in front, one should speak both praise and non-praise. The non-Dharma lot is extending the hand outward, do not give it between the first two words, give it on the third, it is a transgression of the Vinaya.
