It is stipulated that it should be wrapped like the head of a vulture. Abandoning the faults like the seven types of skirts, it should be taught to wrap it in a circular manner, thus instructed. The monks did not know how to wear the robes, therefore it was taught to wrap the robes in a circular manner, thus instructed. The group of six monks wore robes that were too short, exceeding the knees, which was not pleasing.

This should be done. The reason for not glancing sideways is that the group of six monks were glancing around as they walked, and the faithful patrons ridiculed them. After hearing this, (the Buddha) admonished them not to walk while glancing sideways. The group of six monks walked with their eyes closed, and as a result, they collided with horses and charioteers, fell to the ground, and were covered in impurities and mud. The patrons and Brahmins ridiculed them for this. After hearing this, (the Buddha) said not to close their eyes or glance sideways, but to look at the height of the yoke and go to the house of the patron. As for not covering the head, it means that the group of six monks entered the house of the patron with their heads covered. The patrons ridiculed them, saying that only low-caste brides would do that, and that it was not appropriate for the holy ones to do so. After hearing this, (the Buddha) decreed that they should not enter the village with their heads covered. As for not lifting the lower garment, it means that the group of six monks entered the house of the patron with their lower garments lifted. The patrons ridiculed them, saying that the holy ones should only do that when urinating or defecating, or when there is mud or water, and that it was not appropriate when these conditions were not present. After hearing this, (the Buddha) established the precept of not lifting the lower garment when entering the house of the patron. As for not going with the robes disarranged, it means that the group of six monks put on their Dharma robes and then disarranged them again. The patrons said that gamblers and naughty boys would do that, so why do the holy ones do that? Therefore, they were ridiculed. After hearing this, (the Buddha) established the precept of not disarranging the Dharma robes when entering the house of the patron. As for walking with the Dharma robes draped over the neck, it means that the group of six monks put on their Dharma robes and then draped them over their necks as they entered the village. The Brahmins and patrons ridiculed them, saying that only the holy ones and naughty boys would do that, and that it was not appropriate. After hearing this, (the Buddha) decreed that they should not enter the village with the Dharma robes draped over their necks. As for not exposing both shoulders while walking, it means that the group of six monks walked with their clothes exposed on both shoulders. The patrons said that the holy ones were acting like servants, which was not appropriate. Therefore, they were ridiculed. After hearing this, (the Buddha) taught them not to expose both shoulders when entering the village.

These are the precepts about "how to behave." The so-called "not walking with the chest" means that the Six Groups of monks entered the homes of laypeople with the soles of their feet, and were ridiculed by the laypeople, who said, 'Saints and young children play on trees, and those who walk with the soles of their feet on the ground walk like that. Such behavior is inappropriate.' Therefore, after hearing this, the Buddha established the precept: one should not walk in the village with the chest. The so-called "not walking in a measuring way" means that the Six Groups of monks entered the village by measuring their steps, and were ridiculed by the laypeople, who said, 'Artisans and diviners in the world do that, do not walk like that.' Therefore, after hearing this, the Buddha established the precept: one should not stretch one's steps in the village and walk in a measuring way. The so-called "not walking by jumping" means that the Six Groups of monks jumped over obstacles such as wooden frames, and were ridiculed by Brahmins and laypeople, who said, 'Saints walk like that because they are afraid, such behavior is inappropriate.' Therefore, after hearing this, the Buddha established the precept: do not jump over the mounds and wooden frames ridiculed by laypeople, but walk on the road, do not jump, but walk in the village. The so-called "not walking by squatting" means that the Six Groups of monks walked by squatting, and were ridiculed by the laypeople, who said, 'Old people, people with leg diseases, and young children who cannot walk do that. Such behavior of saints is inappropriate.' Therefore, after hearing this, the Buddha established the precept: one should not walk by squatting, but should walk in the village. The so-called "not walking by leaning on the waist" means that the Six Groups of monks walked by leaning on the waist, and were ridiculed by the laypeople, who said, 'Merchants and leaders walk like that, it is inappropriate for saints to walk like that.' Therefore, after hearing this, the Buddha established the precept: one should not walk by leaning on the waist, but should walk in the village. The so-called "not walking by twisting the body" means that the Six Groups of monks twisted their bodies to enter the village, and were ridiculed by the faithful laypeople, who said, 'Saints live by their appearance, and female yaks also walk like that. Such behavior is inappropriate.' Therefore, after hearing this, the Buddha established the precept: one should not twist the body, but should enter the home of a layperson. Hand
