If one spends the night and dawn breaks, one will fall. The fault is that if one speaks to a person who speaks in this way, who is not in accordance with the Dharma, who has not abandoned sinful views, one will fall. If one speaks everywhere, one will also fall. If one lives together, one will also fall. If one enjoys together, one will also fall. If one sits together, it is the same. For those who are sick and have abandoned sinful views, there is no fault. The reason for not allowing one to associate with and live with those who have been expelled from the Sangha is that when they were in Shravasti, the venerable Nanda had two novice disciples named Kantaka and Puja. At that time, some monks who had not abandoned their defilements and desires would mock, insult, be arrogant, and beat these two novices. Later, one day, when the two novices were picking flowers, a lightning bolt fell from the sky above, and they saw some monks falling from the sky. They asked, "Who are you?" They replied, "We are called so and so." They asked again, "You used to practice evil deeds with the Six Groups, why are you like this now?" They replied, "We have abandoned those sinful dharmas, we have confessed what should be confessed, we have restrained what should be restrained, and through diligent practice, we have attained Arhatship." The two novices thought, "Seeing that those who practice evil deeds can also attain Arhatship, the obstacles spoken of by the Blessed One will also become no obstacles." After this view arose, the monks admonished them many times, but they could not destroy their evil views. So, they disappeared from the sight of the Sangha and broke off relations. Nanda associated with them, gave them support, provided them with lodging and necessities, and allowed them to live there. The monks heard this and ridiculed, "That evil novice, after disappearing from sight, is living with those who have been expelled." So it was reported to the Buddha, and for those who are not in accordance with the Dharma, it is not allowed to associate with them, therefore the precepts to be learned in the Vinaya were established. The novices were Kantaka and the Unsevered. The phrase "to say thus" refers to the words that appear below.

So. The Bhagavan is the Tathagata. Dharma is what is spoken by the Bhagavan and the Shravakas. Interruption refers to the five objects of desire. To attend means to practice. Not being interrupted means not becoming a virtuous practice. To say this means to advise with gentle words. To advise two or three times means to advise with the actions of supplication and request. A Shramanera who does not act according to the Dharma, after abandoning him from sight, to associate with him is the son of Shakya, Nanda, and others like him. Knowing means knowing oneself or being advised by others. Thus, to make a Shramanera out of sight means to be thorny and to have offerings. Others are also like that. Giving a place means putting it there. Giving utensils means giving alms bowls and so on. Transmission means giving a place and giving the meaning and reading. Sleeping in the same house means being cut off by dawn inside the house. The offense is that if a Shramanera is made out of sight, knowingly giving a place and utensils, or living together in the same house, then one will commit one offense after another. Being sick and looking at sin Except for turning away from it. Others should be combined like the offense. The reason why clothes that have not changed color and clothes dyed with large dyes are not allowed to be worn is in Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar). At that time, in the kingdom of King Rupahrdaya, there lived two dragon kings, Mountain and Joyful Garden. Hot springs and lakes flourished, and rain fell on time, so that place had good harvests and was prosperous. The two dragons relied on the two, Naga Nanda and Nanda. They always served the Bhagavan, and their retinue increased. Without a place to live, they wanted to live in the sea, and they asked the Buddha, but the Buddha did not allow it, saying that since you two live in the king's land, you should ask the king. At another time, the two dragons transformed themselves into the appearance of householders. In front of the Buddha, when the two dragons were sitting listening to the Dharma. King Rupahrdaya himself came there, thinking that the two dragons would stand up, and when he came, they did not stand up, the king
