They also fled in fear because of playing. They said, "How should we resist if the enemy comes?" Those people reported to the king, and the king also heard clearly. Even when staying in the army for two days, it is not allowed to disrupt the deployment of war, this is the training in discipline. The meaning of Bhikshu is the group of six, and others are similar to this. The meaning of army is cavalry etc., as before. Disrupting the deployment means entering into war. The meaning of the banner is the banner of the lion, makara, and the king of cattle. There are four forms of war deployment: like a pile of grain, chariots, crescent shape, and the wings of a flying eagle. The downfall is the same as before. If elephants and horses etc. wearing armor go astray, it will become a downfall. If they are not wearing armor, it will become a misdeed. The origin of not allowing beating a Bhikshu is when it was in Shravasti. At that time, the venerable Maudgalyayana caused seventeen young people including Upali to be ordained and fully ordained. Those people did not know about the group of six Bhikshus, so when the venerable Ashvajit assigned a task to one of the seventeen groups of Bhikshus, that person said, "You are not my teacher or preceptor." And he clapped his palm, knocked him to the ground and cried, and everyone fell to the ground and cried. Others asked, "If one of you is beaten, why are the others like this?" They said, "If we are not all at the same time, we will all be beaten." After this matter was reported to the Buddha, the training place of discipline that does not allow beating Bhikshus was established. Again, the meaning of Bhikshu is Ashvajit, and others are similar to this. Beating means slapping and hitting. The downfall is the same as before. If a Bhikshu is angry, agitated, and intimidating, and slaps a Bhikshu with his palm or fist, he will commit a downfall. Slapping with five fingers will also result in a corresponding downfall. Even if the body is hit by the fruit of an elm tree or the fruit of mustard, no matter how much it hits, it will result in a corresponding downfall. If a Bhikshu beats by means of skillful means, he will also commit a downfall. The origin of not allowing preparation for beating a Bhikshu is when it was in Shravasti. The venerable

When serving the seventeen and six sections, because the barber repeatedly assigned work, and being unable to handle it, he was allowed to strike. Therefore, when he intended to strike and raised his hand, he reported it to the assembly. In order to prevent disputes, a rule of discipline was established. If one intends to strike, even with a mustard seed, it constitutes a transgression. In other aspects, elaborate as if connecting it with striking. Even a layperson who has not received full ordination is allowed to intend to strike, but will be condemned for misconduct. The reason why a monk is not allowed to conceal misdeeds is that in Shravasti, there was a monk named Gawo (Joy), who had a disciple named Cho (Dharma). Because he was very diligent in virtuous deeds, he would take his cushion to a place for virtuous practice during the day. Meeting Gawo, the attendant Gawo said, "Bring my cushion too." So the two of them meditated together in a place for virtuous practice during the day. The attendant Gawo, being restless, meditated with a distracted mind, but his mind was not disturbed. He saw a girl stealing wood in the Sangha's forest and said, "Dharma, drive her away!" He also said, "Teacher, don't think too much, please consider the Jetavana Sutra." He also said, "Fool, look at the Sangha's trees." Didn't he say that? If you can't do it, I'll drive her away myself. Then, the attendant Gawo drove the girl away, and the girl laughed back. The attendant Gawo grabbed the girl and committed an improper act. Afterwards, he returned and said to Dharma, "What did you see?" Dharma said, "I didn't see the one who entered alone, but I saw everything else." The attendant Gawo said, "Then, don't tell anyone." Dharma said, "I won't speak until I meet someone." The attendant Gawo said, "If your Khenpo Gawo commits a mistake, I will always conceal it, will you conceal mine too?" Dharma couldn't bear it, so he reported the matter to other monks. After the Buddha condemned it, he established the rule of discipline that monks are not allowed to conceal misdeeds. Again, a monk refers to the attendant Gawo, and others are similar to him. A misdeed refers to something arising from the Sangha's leftovers, or arising from defeat. Knowing refers to knowing oneself or others.
