Because it is similar to a non-guide, it eliminates and defeats the path of afflictions, obtains the path of the noble ones, and leads one to the abode of Nirvana. Therefore, the initial goer is this Pratimoksha, so it is shown as being like the supreme guide. The so-called entering the city of liberation, liberation refers to Nirvana. So, how is it obtained? Through Vajra-like Samadhi, destroying the extremely subtle afflictions, thereby obtaining the wisdom of cessation and non-arising. That place is like the city of liberation. Because it is free from all fear and affection, it is like a city. Just as a city surrounded by walls and with closed gates is free from the fear of enemies, so too is the city of Nirvana. Because the gates are closed by the wisdom of cessation and non-arising, it is not feared by the enemy of afflictions. Or, as an example of a ladder, just as in the world, a ladder is set up for going in order, it is a necessary method for reaching the destination. Those who rely on and abide in discipline will also reach the state of Nirvana, and the method of reaching the city of Nirvana is Pratimoksha, which is the concluding statement. In the phrase "I have attained Nirvana," "I" refers to Bhagavan When Bhagavan shows Nirvana, the monks asked Bhagavan: If there is no teacher, then the Dharma and the Sangha will not exist, the Three Jewels will also disappear, and the world will be empty. In response, Bhagavan said: I have attained Nirvana, and hereafter Pratimoksha is the teacher. By abiding in mindfulness, one is the sthavira. For the unruly person, subdue them by not speaking and give a reply. At the beginning of the Sutra, write "Thus have I heard." Now, if you do what should and should not be done as I taught when I was alive, it is as if I were alive. Nirvana refers to transcending afflictions or samsara. Your teacher refers to the retinue of Shravakas and Pratimoksha itself. Therefore, just as everyone respectfully serves Bhagavan when he is alive in the world, so too should discipline be given no small amount of respectful service.

You should look at it as you would the past. The so-called "diligence of self-origination" refers to the Tathagata himself. The Tathagata does not rely on the help and oral instructions of others, and is not overcome by any antidote, but realizes all dharmas with his own wisdom and is self-originated. Also, like hair and beard falling off naturally, and merit naturally appearing white, it is not because of the Khenpo and Acharya, but because of self-origination, hence it is called self-origination. The so-called "diligence" means "excellent." Therefore, in front of the monks, praise the discipline as being no different from the Tathagata. The name of the Buddha is also extremely rare in the world. And so on, because of listening to the Pratimoksha, making offerings with diligence, acting respectfully, and starting from having no leisure, the Buddha and so on are mentioned. Among them, it is extremely difficult to be born into the world and hear the name of the Buddha, let alone see the Buddha? The Tathagata has not appeared in the world for ninety-one kalpas, so the world is empty. Just as it is extremely difficult to hear the name of the Buddha, it is also extremely difficult to obtain a human body. Even if one obtains a human body, it is extremely difficult to meet a virtuous friend and become ordained. Even if one has become ordained, it is extremely difficult to make the precepts completely pure. The analogy for the extreme difficulty of the Buddha and obtaining a human body, etc., is: in the deep ocean, a blind turtle emerges from the water once every thousand years. Also, it is difficult for a yoke with a single hole to fall into the sea and be blown east and west by the wind, and for the turtle's neck to fit into the hole of the yoke. It is even more difficult to meet virtuous friends such as the Buddha and to have leisure and perfect conditions. Therefore, at such a time when one has favorable conditions, one should become ordained and receive full ordination, listen to the Pratimoksha with diligence and respect, and strive to protect the precepts without any defects, that is its meaning. Among them, some teachers also explain it this way: the Buddha's discipline.
